The Crude Oil Logistics segment purchases crude oil from producers and marketers, and transports it to refineries for resale at pipeline injection stations, storage terminals, barge loading facilities, rail facilities, refineries, and other trade hubs; and provides storage, terminaling, and transportation services through pipelines. The Liquids Logistics segment supplies natural gas liquids, refined petroleum products, and biodiesel to commercial, retail, and industrial customers in the United States and Canada through its 24 terminals, third-party storage and terminal facilities, and nine common carrier pipelines, as well as through fleet of leased railcars. This segment is also involved in the marine export of butane through its facility located in Chesapeake, Virginia. NGL Energy Holdings LLC serves as the general partner of the company. The company was founded in 1940 and is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On Thursday, Pfizer (PFE)'s Director, Ronald E. Blaylock, made a $499,072 buy of PFE, purchasing 19,457 shares at a cost of $25.65 each. Pfizer is trading up about 0.4% on the day Tuesday.
And at NGL Energy Partners LP (NGL), there was insider buying on Friday, by Chief Executive Officer H. Michael Krimbill who bought 100,000 shares at a cost of $4.63 each, for a total investment of $462,555. NGL Energy Partners LP is trading up about 2% on the day Tuesday. So far Krimbill is in the green, up about 8.7% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $5.03.

Energy stocks were mixed Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index decreasing 0.2% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) up 0.2%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index was posting a 0.5% increase, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index was falling 0.7%.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil was rising 0.2% to $75.69 a barrel while the global benchmark Brent crude contract was down 0.1% to $79.81 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures jumped 4% to $2.93 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Exxon Mobil (XOM) shares are projected to underperform peers in the near term given current valuations and the Pioneer Natural Resources integration, Truist said in a note Friday. Truist downgraded Exxon's stock to hold from buy and cut its price target to $124 from $146. Exxon shares were down 0.2%.
NGL Energy Partners (NGL) shares tumbled 7.2% after it reported a wider fiscal Q4 loss as revenue declined during the quarter.
Entergy (ETR) and NextEra Energy (NEE) unit NextEra Energy Resources said Friday that they have agreed to jointly develop up to 4.5 gigawatts of solar generation and energy storage projects in the southern US. Entergy shares fell 0.7% and NextEra Energy was down 0.5%.

Energy Sector Update for 06/07/2024: XOM, NGL, ETR, NEE

Beat the market. That's the goal for most investors. However, achieving that goal is often easier said than done.
It wasn't difficult for quite a few U.S. senators and representatives last year, though. Over 30 of them managed to beat the market, with some of them raking in gains more than four times greater than the S&P 500. Meet the ultrahigh-yield dividend stock that helped one member of Congress generate a 122% return last year.
Rep. Mark Green's income machine
Rep. Mark Green, R-Tenn., was the second-best stock trader in Congress in 2023. He achieved a return of 122%. How did the GOP representative do it? Primarily through his investments in energy stocks, with one especially standing out.
Energy Transfer LP (NYSE: ET) has been a staple in Green's portfolio for several years. The company is a leader in the North American midstream energy industry. Energy Transfer operates around 125,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (NGLs).
Arguably the biggest reason many investors are attracted to Energy Transfer is its distribution. The midstream energy company's distribution yield currently tops 7.2% and was even higher throughout most of last year.
Why Energy Transfer was a big winner for Rep. Green
Energy Transfer's shares (technically called units because the company is a limited partnership) jumped 16% in 2023. However, Rep. Green's profits from selling units multiple times last year were likely much higher because Energy Transfer delivered even greater gains in 2021 and 2022.
One reason Energy Transfer was such a big winner for Green is that energy stocks in general have rebounded strongly since crashing during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. At one point in March 2020, Energy Transfer lost roughly two-thirds of its market cap.
It also helped that the company reported solid quarterly-earnings results several times in 2023. Energy Transfer started off the year on an especially good note with strong first-quarter earnings and raised its full-year outlook for adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA).
The company's dealmaking was a key factor in its performance as well. Energy Transfer closed on its acquisition of Lotus Midstream in May 2023 and closed its buyout of Crestwood Equity Partners in November 2023.
Rep. Green owned other stocks that were important in his market-beating return last year. For example, NGL Energy Partners LP, another midstream energy stock, skyrocketed 360%.

I think Energy Transfer is a good stock to buy right now for some investors. Anyone seeking income should like its ultrahigh-distribution yield. The company expects to grow its distribution by 3% to 5% annually.

Energy stocks rose late Friday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index adding 0.9% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) climbing 1.2%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index advanced 1%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index eased 0.2%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.3% to $86.81 a barrel, while global benchmark Brent gained 0.4% to $91.04 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures were unchanged at $1.77 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, NGL Energy (NGL) rose 3.3% as the company completed the sale of its North and South Ranches in New Mexico, resulting in proceeds of $70 million.
Precision Drilling (PDS) shares rose 0.8% as S&P Global Ratings on Friday revised its outlook on the company to positive from stable and affirmed the B+ issuer credit rating.
Chesapeake Energy (CHK) said tits planned merger with Southwestern Energy (SWN) will be completed in H2 due to additional documents requested by the Federal Trade Commission. Chesapeake shares rose 0.5% and Southwestern gained 0.1%.
Shell (SHEL) shares rose 1.4%. The company said it expects "significantly lower" Q1 results in its liquefied natural gas business compared with an "exceptional" Q4. Separately, Shell and Saudi Aramco, which are competing to buy the assets of Temasek-owned Pavilion Energy, are in final talks on pricing negotiations, Reuters reported Friday.

Energy Sector Update for 04/05/2024: NGL, PDS, CHK, SWN, SHEL

March 14 (Reuters) - An exchange-traded fund that follows the stock trades of Democratic lawmakers has seen sharp gains since its launch last year, outperforming a Republican-oriented fund, on the back of big bets on megacap technology companies.
The $49 million Subversive Unusual Whales Democratic ETF NANC.N, the ticker of which is a play on the name of former Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi, has surged nearly 35% since its launch on Feb. 7 last year.
That compares with a 25.8% gain for the benchmark S&P 500 index .SPX during the same period and an 18.1% advance in the $12.5 million Subversive Unusual Whales Republican ETF KRUZ.N, whose ticker is a nod to Republican senator Ted Cruz.
"NANC has outperformed KRUZ because it tilts toward growth stocks and underweights energy," said Bryan Armour, an analyst at Morningstar, adding that the Republican ETF also favored more value stocks.
AI darling Nvidia NVDA.O makes up near 10% of the Democratic fund, followed by Microsoft Corp MSFT.O, Alphabet GOOGL.O Amazon.com AMZN.O, Salesforce CRM.N and Apple AAPL.O, which constitute about 27.3% of its assets, according to the fund's website.
Meanwhile, energy stocks such as Shell SHEL.NSHEL.L, NGL Energy Partners NGL.N, ConocoPhillips COP.N and Chevron CVX.N, that are among the top 10 holdings of the Republic ETF have broadly underperformed the market with some falling year-to-date.
The Democratic fund has seen net inflows of $32.8 million year-to-date, according to LSEG Lipper data, while the Republican fund has garnered just $5.8 million.
"We are getting large allocations solely based on performance and the story of what these funds represent: the best information from the best-informed crowd," said Christian H. Cooper, portfolio manager at Subversive Capital, which launched both the funds with financial data firm Unusual Whales.
Congressional trading has been under growing scrutiny and attracted calls to ban lawmakers from trading.
A 2012 law requires lawmakers to disclose their stock transactions as well as that of family members within 45 days.
Pelosi's portfolio that includes Nvidia and Apple, is up 84.3% year-to-date, according to Unusual Whales.
Republican congressman Mark Green's portfolio is up 126% so far this year, after bumper gains last year, while senator Rand Paul's portfolio fell 6.9%.
Total assets of the Democratic fund have grown to $49 million from $6.7 million in one year, while the Republican fund has climbed to $12.5 million from $4.3 million, according to LSEG Lipper data.
Another battle brews as Democrats prepare to face the Republicans in the U.S. presidential elections and primaries this year, with the former wresting for control of the House of Representatives and trying to hold on to their majority of the Senate.

In trading on Thursday, shares of NGL Energy Partners LP's 9.00% Class B Fixed-to-Floating Rate Cumulative (Symbol: NGL.PRB) were yielding above the 7.5% mark based on its quarterly dividend (annualized to $2.25), with shares changing hands as low as $28.18 on the day. This compares to an average yield of 7.78% in the "Oil & Gas Equipment & Services" preferred stock category, according to Preferred Stock Channel. As of last close, NGL.PRB was trading at a 27.88% premium to its liquidation preference amount, versus the average premium of 0.73% in the "Oil & Gas Equipment & Services" category.
