The Investment Management segment provides equity, fixed income, alternatives and solutions, and liquidity and overlay services to benefit/defined contribution plans, foundations, endowments, government entities, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, third-party fund sponsors, corporations, and individuals through institutional and intermediary channels. The company was founded in 1924 and is headquartered in New York, New York.

The Power of Institutional Investors
The Zacks Rank also allows individual investors, or retail investors, to benefit from the power of institutional investors.
Institutional investors are the professionals who manage the trillions of dollars invested in mutual funds, investment banks, and hedge funds. Studies have shown that these investors can and do move the market due to the large amounts of money they invest with. Because of this, the market tends to move in the same direction as institutional investors.
These investors are known for designing valuation models that focus on earnings and earnings expectations in order to figure out the fair value of a company and its shares. If earnings estimates are raised, it puts a higher value on a company.
Institutional investors will use these changes to help in their decision-making, typically buying stocks with rising estimates and selling those with falling estimates. Higher earnings expectations can translate into a rise in stock price and bigger gains for the investor.

However, some investors are skeptical about the drugmaker's ability to generate superior returns over the next five years. The bears will point to Eli Lilly's valuation: the company trades at 25.7x forward earnings, well above the 17x average for healthcare stocks.
Even at current levels -- and with its shares changing hands for about $870 apiece -- some people think Eli Lilly remains undervalued. Let's look at what a Wall Street analyst recently said on the topic and what it means for investors.

A bullish outlook
Terence Flynn, an analyst at Morgan Stanley, recently reiterated an overweight (or "buy") rating on Eli Lilly stock along with a price target of $1,327. That suggests an upside of about 52% from its current levels. If Eli Lilly can reach this price target within the next year, the stock will exceed the $1 trillion mark.
Why is Flynn so bullish on the stock? Partly because of Eli Lilly's dominance in the weight loss market. This comes even in the wake of recent coverage decisions by major insurers, including CVS Health, which decided to drop coverage of Eli Lilly's Zepbound, a move that could slow the medicine's adoption. CVS Health will, instead, cover the cheaper Wegovy, marketed by Novo Nordisk.
Still, Flynn thinks that Zepbound and Eli Lilly's new weight loss oral pill, Foundayo, could generate about $31 billion in combined sales in the U.S. next year, with that number potentially rising to $45 billion in 2030. For reference, Foundayo was recently launched just weeks ago, whereas Zepbound generated worldwide revenue of $13.5 billion in 2025. If Flynn is right, we can expect attractive top-line growth for Eli Lilly through the end of the decade (and perhaps beyond).
Should you buy the stock?
CVS Health's recent coverage decision highlights one of the major risks Eli Lilly faces. There are others. The company will encounter even more competition in the coming years. That means more options for patients and third-party payers, reduced pricing power, perhaps a smaller market share, and more. Despite these potential issues, my view is that Eli Lilly remains an attractive stock to buy. Here are three reasons why. First, the company's weight-loss pipeline is second to none.
Eli Lilly boasts some candidates in development that could prove even more effective than Zepbound. Perhaps the most promising is retatrutide, a medicine currently in phase 3 studies. This investigational therapy led to a mean weight loss of 28.7% (at the highest dose) in a 68-week late-stage trial. Although it's always challenging to compare across studies, that's much better than anything Zepbound has ever accomplished in a similar amount of time in clinical trials.
Even Eli Lilly's new weight loss pill, Foundayo, looks highly promising. Besides having no food or water restrictions -- unlike its only real competitor, oral Wegovy -- it is also undergoing several phase 3 studies across other potential indications. The list includes obstructive sleep apnea, hypertension, and more. Additional indications should help broaden the medicine's appeal and boost its sales. So, Eli Lilly should remain the leader in this market for a while.
Second, the company has a vast pipeline outside of its core area of expertise. Eli Lilly is doubling down on fields such as oncology, neuroscience, and others. The company has improved its pipeline in these and other niches through acquisitions. If it can launch more medicines beyond diabetes and obesity, the company will be better equipped to handle the increased competition it will face in its core market. Third, Eli Lilly is an attractive dividend stock.
Don't let the company's unimpressive forward yield of 0.7% fool you -- that's largely because the stock has crushed broader equities over the past five years. Eli Lilly has increased its payouts by 103.5% in this period. Considering its fast-growing top and bottom lines and excellent income program, Eli Lilly is a great stock for growth-oriented investors and dividend seekers alike.

Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) plays an increasingly important role in the artificial intelligence value chain, and most Wall Street analysts consider the stock undervalued at $143 per share. The median target of $200 per share implies 40% upside from its current price.
However, Wall Street is generally more bullish on Axon Enterprise (NASDAQ: AXON), a lesser-known company that is integrating artificial intelligence into its public safety hardware and software. Axon's median target price of $700 per share implies 76% upside from its current share price of $397.

Here's what investors should know.
Palantir Technologies: 40% upside implied by Wall Street's median target price
Palantir is emerging as the industry standard in enterprise artificial intelligence platforms. Its integration and analytics products are well suited to operationalizing AI because they organize data into a decision-making framework (rather than spreadsheets) called an ontology. And machine learning models embedded in the ontology surface increasingly useful insights as they capture more data.
Beyond integration and analytics tools, Palantir provides an adjacent artificial intelligence platform (AIP) that lets developers build large language models into businesses processes and applications. AIP makes it possible for users to engage data in natural language, but it also lets AI agents understand and take action on information to automate workflows.
Palantir's execution was impeccable in the fourth quarter. Revenue climbed 70% to $1.4 billion, the tenth straight acceleration, and non-GAAP net income increased 79% to $0.25 per diluted share. Morgan Stanley analyst Sanjit Singh wrote in a note to clients, "It is hard to find a better fundamental story in software than Palantir."
However, the stock trades at 190 times adjusted earnings, a very expensive valuation even for a company whose adjusted earnings are forecast to increase at 57% annually through 2027. The market is currently tolerant of Palantir's enormous price tag, and that is reflected in the median target price of $200 per share. But the stock could fall sharply if the company fails to meet Wall Street's lofty expectations.
Axon: 76% upside implied by Wall Street's median target
Axon develops public safety products for law enforcement, enterprises, and government agencies. Axon reported encouraging fourth-quarter financial results. Sales increased 39% to $797 million, driven by strong growth across hardware and software products, and non-GAAP net income soared 84% to $2.15 per diluted share. Additionally, contracted bookings (orders not yet recognized as sales) increased 43% to $14.4 billion, which hints at durable demand.
Wall Street estimates Axon's adjusted earnings will increase at 24% annually through 2027. That makes the current valuation of 55 times adjusted earnings look tolerable, especially because analysts have frequently underestimated the company. Axon beat the consensus earnings estimate by an average of 23% in the last six quarters. The current price is an attractive entry point for long-term investors.

Morgan Stanley’s first-quarter 2026 results showed capital market strength. Increased focus on asset and wealth management operations, along with its strategic alliances and acquisitions, will support MS’ top line.
The EquityZen acquisition broadens private market capabilities and should deepen client relationships over time. The performance of the investment banking (IB) business will continue to be driven by a strong pipeline, resilient M&A demand, lower rates and MS’ global footprint. Its efficient capital distributions reflect a solid balance sheet.
Morgan Stanley expects a modest sequential gain in the Wealth Management segment’s net interest income (NII) for the second quarter. Given the incremental loan growth expectation and deposit mix, NII is projected to continue trending higher.
Morgan Stanley has an expected revenue and earnings growth rate of 8.3% and 15.6%, respectively, for the current year. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year’s earnings has improved 4.1% over the last 30 days.
Bank of America Corp.
Bank of America has been witnessing an increase in revenues over the past several years. BAC has been steadily embedding artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations, and this quiet transformation is emerging as a meaningful driver of operating margin expansion.
By integrating AI-driven digital capabilities with a targeted physical branch expansion strategy, the bank is building a “phygital” model that balances efficiency with customer engagement, an approach that is expected to allow BAC to streamline operations while simultaneously strengthening its revenue-generating capacity.
BAC provided strong guidance. Full year 2026 NII growth has been projected to 6% to 8% from 5-7% projected earlier. Operating leverage likely to stay at more than 200 basis points.
Bank of America has an expected revenue and earnings growth rate of 9.3% and 16.8%, respectively, for the current year. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year’s earnings has improved 2.8% over the last 30 days.
Citigroup Inc.
Citigroup’s first-quarter 2026 results benefited from higher year-over-year NII. Ongoing transformation initiatives, including consumer business exits, cost cuts and operational streamlining, will likely support revenue growth of C as stranded costs and transformation spend begin to moderate.
Management expects revenues to see a 4-5% compound annual growth rate through 2026. C’s expansion into private credit boosts diversification, with a strong capital base supporting shareholder returns.
For 2026, management expects NII (excluding Markets) to increase 5-6% on a year-over-year basis in 2026. Citigroup anticipates an efficiency ratio of 60% in 2026, with another year of positive operating leverage.
Management continues to target a return on tangible common equity (RoTCE) of 10-11% in 2026. U.S Cards net credit loss (NCL) as a percentage of average loans is expected to be 4-4.5%. In 2025, U.S. Cards NCL was 4.1%.
Citigroup has an expected revenue and earnings growth rate of 8.4% and 33.3%, respectively, for the current year. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current year’s earnings has improved 0.8% over the last seven days.

Billionaire Bill Ackman runs Pershing Square Capital Management, a top 20 hedge fund as measured by net gains, according to LCH Investment. In December, he had 27 % of assets under management split between two AI stocks: 11% in Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) and 16% in Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER).
In general, Wall Street thinks the stocks are undervalued, but certain analysts expect substantial upside in the next year:

Barton Crocket at Rosenblatt Securities recently set Meta with a target of $1,015 per share. That implies 50% upside from the current share price of $675.
Mark Mahaney at Evercore recently set Uber with a target of $150 per share. That implies 100% upside from its current share price of $75.

Meta Platforms: 11% of Bill Ackman's portfolio
Meta Platforms owns the three most popular social media platforms by monthly active users. That affords the company deep insight into consumer preferences, which makes it very good at recommending content and targeting advertising campaigns. Meta is leaning on artificial intelligence to strengthen that virtuous cycle. Ad impressions climbed 12% last year, and the average price per ad increased 9%.
Nevertheless, CEO Mark Zuckerberg says the company has hardly scratched the surface. Meta recently launched Muse Spark, the first multimodal reasoning model developed by its superintelligence division. In general, Muse scores slightly lower than leading models from OpenAI and Anthropic, but performs more or less in line with Alphabet's Gemini.
Muse is now the cognitive engine behind the conversational assistant Meta AI, and select users have been invited to test a private API (application programming interface). Meta will initially monetize the model as a tool to improve engagement and ad targeting, as well as through a dedicated shopping mode. But paid API access will eventually allow developers to build Muse into custom applications.
Wall Street expects Meta's earnings to increase at 21% annually over the next three years. That makes the current valuation of 29 times earnings look relatively cheap. Indeed, those values give the company a PEG ratio of 1.3, a discount to the three-year average of 1.5. With pessimism about the company's AI spending weighing on the stock, now is a good time for patient investors to buy a small position.
Uber Technologies: 16% of Bill Ackman's portfolio
Uber operates the largest ridesharing and restaurant food delivery platform in the world, which makes it an ideal partner for companies that want to commercialize autonomous driving technology. Uber hopes to have 100,000 robotaxis on the streets by 2027 with help from partners, and it intends to be the largest facilitator of autonomous vehicle (AV) trips by 2029.
Uber is working with Nvidia to make that happen. The companies (in conjunction with automaker partners) will build a global fleet of autonomous vehicles. The launch will start with Los Angeles and San Francisco in the first half of 2027, before expanding to 28 cities across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia by 2028. The vehicles will be powered entirely by Nvidia hardware and software.
Additionally, Uber already works with other AV companies. In North America, its platform links riders with Waymo robotaxis in Phoenix, Austin, and Atlanta, and it links riders with Avride robotaxis in Dallas. In the Middle East, Uber connects riders with WeRide robotaxis in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Riyadh, and the partnership will expand to 12 more cities by 2030.
Uber stock is currently down 25% from its high, partly because some investors worry that robotaxis will be a headwind for its business. But I think those fears are overblown. Uber is ideally positioned to help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) scale autonomous ridesharing services. Indeed, Morgan Stanley analysts estimate Uber will account for 22% of autonomous rides in the U.S. by 2032.
Wall Street expects Uber's earnings to increase at 30% annually over the next three years. That makes the current valuation of 16 times earnings look cheap. Those numbers give the stock a PEG ratio of 0.5, a discount to the two-year average of 0.8. Shares may not double in the next year, but the current price is a great entry point for patient investors.

Michael Saylor's Strategy is now the biggest Bitcoin hodler
When it comes to institutional Bitcoin owners, no entity beats Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR). Through unique financial engineering tactics, this company raises capital from equity and fixed-income markets to acquire more of the cryptocurrency. It owns a whopping 815,061 Bitcoin units, valued at nearly $64 billion, on its balance sheet. Saylor is a notable long-term hodler of this important cryptocurrency.
Michael Saylor, the billionaire technology entrepreneur who transformed Strategy from a software enterprise into a Bitcoin treasury company, believes the cryptocurrency is the best asset to own in the face of fiat currencies being constantly debased. Bitcoin's scarce supply limit of 21 million units is a very compelling feature. Plus, its impressive long-term performance is hard to overlook.
Other notable publicly traded companies that hold Bitcoin directly on their balance sheets are Coinbase, Tesla, and Block. Should Bitcoin's price continue to appreciate, other businesses will follow.
Financial companies are driven by the incentive to make more money
The Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs), launched more than two years ago in January 2024, have been an extremely successful product introduction in the financial services industry. With under $64 billion in net assets, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust is the dominant offering in the market.
Activity hasn't calmed down. Earlier in April, Morgan Stanley launched its own ETF, the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust. After 13 trading days, it has amassed $163 million in net assets.
Generating more revenue is the primary goal of these ETF sponsors. As they realize that their clients demand access to Bitcoin, they are incentivized to create these investment vehicles that can rake in fee income.
The ETFs provide a frictionless and regulatory-friendly way for allocators to gain Bitcoin exposure. The iShares Bitcoin Trust is owned by numerous investment firms, including Jane Street and Brevan Howard Capital Management. Even Harvard University's endowment fund owns this ETF. Of course, individual investors have access, too.
These investment managers and individuals are obviously after the huge returns that Bitcoin can possibly provide. They also see the digital asset as a tool for portfolio diversification.
It's becoming clear, however, that institutions are driving Bitcoin adoption now.

Leopold Aschenbrenner's venture fund, Situational Awareness, has become one of the most widely followed private funds today. It's named after a thesis he wrote that's available to read online, where he details his vision for artificial general intelligence (AGI).
"Everyone is now talking about AI, but few have the faintest glimmer of what is about to hit them," he wrote. "We will have superintelligence, in the true sense of the word." Aschenbrenner formerly worked at OpenAI, and he started the AGI-focused fund in 2024 with about $250 million.

As of the end of the first quarter, Situational Awareness had $5.5 billion in funds and 24 stocks. They're mostly AI support stocks, rather than the headline AI names like Nvidia and Broadcom.
Aschenbrenner is intimately familiar with the workings of AI development and has been ahead of the curve, and these stocks are all outperforming the S&P 500 this year. These are the top seven holdings.
1. Bloom Energy: 16%
Aschenbrenner has made Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) his biggest bet. This energy company sells solid oxide fuel cell systems, otherwise known as Bloom Energy Servers, that produce reliable on-site electricity for various facilities. Although the company has been around for a long time, it's gotten a new lease on life since its products can power large data centers off the electricity grid.
Bloom Energy has joined the AI boom, and the stock is up 150% this year alone. Situational Awareness also owns Bloom Energy calls, a separate high-conviction take.
2. Lumentum Holdings: 8.7%
Lumentum (NASDAQ: LITE) provides optical infrastructure for data centers, cloud computing, and telecommunications. It makes laser and photonic equipment that speeds up data transfer, which is why it has become a core component of AI technology. Lumentum has also been in operation for many years, but AI infused new life into the company and the stock, and it's up 143% year to date.
3. CoreWeave: 7.9%
CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) is one of the fund's more well-known stocks for AI investors. The company, which is backed by Nvidia, operates cloud and data center infrastructure and enables customers to run training and inference for AI hyperscaler development more efficiently than using traditional cloud platforms.
CoreWeave stock is up 63% this year. The fund's second-largest position is actually CoreWeave calls, which account for 14% of the portfolio.
4. Core Scientific: 7.4%
Core Scientific (NASDAQ: CORZ) operates data centers, and it recently switched from mostly supporting cryptocurrency mining to supporting AI development. It has some serious funding from companies like JPMorgan Chase and Morgan Stanley as it builds out its infrastructure to meet high demand. Its stock is up 36% year to date.
5. Iren: 6%
Iren (NASDAQ: IREN) is another data center infrastructure provider, and it has also switched from cryptocurrency mining to AI development. It buys land to build data centers, and it focuses on power-connected properties. Because it owns and builds its own locations, it can also build according to client specifications.
Iren has the lowest year-to-date gains on this list at 29%, but it's up 772% over the past year.
6. Applied Digital: 5%
Applied Digital (NASDAQ: APLD) is also a more well-known AI stock, and it has also moved from crypto mining to AI (sensing a theme?) It develops custom data centers for clients and rents them out, and it's building out at a fast pace to meet incredible demand. It has a partnership with CoreWeave, which is one of its biggest clients.
Applied Digital stock is up 32% this year, and 715% over the past year.
7. Sandisk: 4.5%
Sandisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) is yet another AI infrastructure company, but it fills a different gap than most of the stocks on this list. Its NAND flash memory products resolve one of the biggest problems for technology companies by providing non-volatile memory, or continuous memory without a power source. It's also energy efficient and low cost.
Like some of these other stocks, it's a company that has reinvented itself to meet new AI needs for storage solutions, and its niche products are in high demand. Sandisk stock is up 284% this year and a whopping 2,800% over the past year.

You want to make sure you're buying stocks with the highest likelihood of success, and to do that, you'll need to pick stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2 that also have Style Scores of A or B. If you like a stock that only has a #3 (Hold) rank, it should also have Scores of A or B to guarantee as much upside potential as possible.
As mentioned above, the Scores are designed to work with the Zacks Rank, so any change to a company's earnings outlook should be a deciding factor when picking which stocks to buy.
Here's an example: a stock with a #4 (Sell) or #5 (Strong Sell) rating, even one with Style Scores of A and B, still has a downward-trending earnings outlook, and a bigger chance its share price will decrease too.
Thus, the more stocks you own with a #1 or #2 Rank and Scores of A or B, the better.
