Quanta said last quarter that it's on a "clear path to more than doubling" its adjusted EPS by 2030 vs. its 2025 levels. It is grabbing a larger share of what it views as a total addressable market worth $2.4 trillion through 2030, given its "unique positioning at the center of converging utility, generation and large-load markets."
PWR is also starting to churn out solid free cash flow growth, and its sturdy balance sheet helped it announce a new $1 billion repurchase program in late May.
The AI energy stock's upward earnings revisions land it a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). PWR shares have already soared ~88% in the past year as part of a much larger run in the past five years.

The company grew its revenue and its adjusted earnings by ~20% in 2025. It closed the first quarter of 2026 with a record backlog of $48.5 billion and grew its free cash flow by 55% in Q1 to $184 million.
Quanta's management confirmed that it's on a "clear path to more than doubling" its adjusted EPS by 2030 vs. its 2025 levels as it attempts to capture more of what it sees as a total addressable market of $2.4 trillion through 2030.
CEO Duke Austin said in Q1 remarks that its "compounding model" and its "unique positioning at the center of converging utility, generation and large-load markets" cement its growth outlook.
PWR is projected to grow its revenue by 22% in 2026 and another 13% next year to $38.95 billion—adding over $10 billion to the top-line vs. 2025.
Meanwhile, it is projected to boost its adjusted EPS by 30% in 2026 and 18% next year to reach $16.38 a share as it pushes to double its earnings between 2025 and 2030. And its upward earnings revisions land Quanta a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
Quanta Stock is a Bet on AI and U.S. Economic Growth
Quanta is playing a key role as the U.S. economy and Wall Street enter a new age of capital-intensive growth after a roughly 20-year run of capital-light economic and stock market expansion.
Globally, companies are projected to spend $7 trillion on capex for AI data center infrastructure by 2030, according to McKinsey, with $1.3 trillion of this spending dedicated to the broader energy segment. A total of 40% of all this spending is set to happen in the U.S., and that's just over the next five years.
AI hyperscalers are spending hundreds of billions of dollars a year (on the path towards trillions) on their AI expansion efforts, showcasing tangible progress rather quickly. The AI hyperscalers, such as Meta and Microsoft, are having a much harder time securing the long-term energy deals required to power their AI visions.
Large AI data centers consume as much electricity as mid-sized cities. This backdrop has sparked an overnight race to bring more power online. U.S. electricity generation remained roughly flat at around 4,000-4,400 (TWh) terawatt-hours between the mid-2000s and early 2020s.
The U.S. electricity grid was already in desperate need of investment and expansion before the AI boom. Now, the AI arms race, coupled with an electrification push and the reshoring of critical manufacturing, such as semiconductors, are projected to boost U.S. electricity demand 25% by 2030 and 75% to 100% by 2050. U.S. transmission capacity must double to keep up with this projected growth.
The next 10 years alone are projected to require more new electricity generation than any period in U.S. history. This backdrop is why the U.S. government is attempting to help quadruple nuclear power capacity by 2050, as Meta, Microsoft and other tech giants partner with next-gen nuclear energy upstarts.
Natural gas is also experiencing a boom as AI companies race to add more of the most stable power sources as quickly as possible. Solar, battery storage, wind, and beyond are also growing as part of an all-of-the-above approach to energy generation growth.
Quanta has cemented its position as one of the clear winners of what's shaping up to be a multi-decade spending spree across all the areas of the economy we just discussed.
Buy this Top-Ranked Stock Now, or Wait for a Pullback?
Quanta stock has skyrocketed over the past 15 years, including a ~640% charge in the past five years, crushing its industry, sector, the S&P 500, and both Meta and Microsoft (two AI hyperscalers) during both periods.
PWR has surged 60% YTD, and some investors might be hesitant to chase the stock and other soaring AI stocks. There is no doubt the market is due for a cooldown after the huge rally off the late-March lows.
Thankfully, PWR and the Nasdaq have already cooled off a bit following the recent selloff.
PWR dropped ~15% from its early May peaks. And it landed support near its 50-day moving average and its highs from before it gapped up at the end of April.
The recent drop also took Quanta from its most overbought RSI levels in the past five years to some of its most oversold.
Of course, selling could ramp back up in the near-term if things go wrong with Iran.
But market timing is exceedingly difficult. Investors might consider taking a starter position in Quanta, and then buy more shares after its next leg down—whenever that occurs.

The rapid expansion of rivals Alo, Vuori, and countless other online-only startups is also contributing to LULU's slowing comparable store sales in its critical Americas region.
On top of that, broader fashion trends appear to be moving away from Lululemon's core offerings. Even though LULU has actively expanded its business in an effort to adapt, Wall Street is unconvinced it is ready to turn things around.
LULU grew its FY25 revenue by 5%, marking by far its lowest ever YoY sales expansion as a public company. Before that, 2024's 10% revenue growth was its slowest year of growth.
The company's Americas comparable sales decreased 3% in fiscal 2025. Lululemon followed up that rough performance in its most important market with a 5% YoY decline in Americas comps in the first quarter of FY26.
The company's Q2 earnings estimate dropped roughly 27% since its report on June 4, with its FY26 estimate another 8% lower and FY27's 9% off the pace. The recent downward revisions earn Lululemon a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell), and extend its downward earnings spiral.
Lululemon is projected to grow its revenue by around 0.5% in FY26 and nearly 5% next year. Meanwhile, its adjusted earnings are expected to fall 14% YoY in FY26 and then jump 8% next year, based on current Zacks estimates.
LULU's 40% YTD dive is part of a ~75% drop from its early 2024 peaks. The fall has it trading where it was in various parts of 2018 and at its lowest ever forward earnings multiple at 9.4X forward 12-month EPS. This backdrop means that investors should likely keep Lululemon on their watchlists and possibly take a nibble at it when management shows Wall Street that a turnaround is on the horizon.
Until then, investors should likely look elsewhere for stocks to buy across the apparel industry and beyond.

Plug Power Surges +120% in a Year: Should You Buy the Stock or Wait?
Plug Power Inc. shares have surged 120% in the past year, outpacing the industry and the S&P 500, which have returned 74.8% and 25.9%, respectively. In comparison, the company's peers like FuelCell Energy, Inc. and Flux Power Holdings, Inc. have gained 156.5% and declined 41.6%, respectively, over the same time frame.
Closing at $2.86 in the last trading session, the stock is trading below its 52-week high of $4.58 but significantly higher than its 52-week low of $1.03. PLUG is currently trading below its 50-day moving average but above its 200-day moving average, indicating a volatile trend in the share price.
Factors Favoring Plug Power
Plug Power's results continue to show signs of improvement in the first quarter of 2026. After witnessing growth of 12.9% in 2025, PLUG's revenues increased 22% year over year in the quarter. Revenues were driven by impressive demand for its electrolyzer product line and volume increase in hydrogen fuel sales. In the first quarter, revenues from the electrolyzer product line skyrocketed approximately 345% on a year-over-year basis.
This solid growth was supported by the growing popularity of the company's GenEco proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers across the industrial and energy sectors. The company has more than 320 MW of electrolyzer capacity deployed worldwide and more than $8 billion in project pipeline across industrial and energy applications. With strong expertise in providing and installing electrolyzers, Plug Power is well-positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for renewable fuels and green ammonia globally.
Last month, PLUG secured a contract for supplying 30 MW of GenEco PEM electrolyzers for the industrial hydrogen production plant located in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. The project will deploy PLUG's six 5 MW GenEco PEM electrolyzers for the production of green hydrogen.
Also, in April, Plug Power clinched one of the largest electrolyzer project deals in its history. The company received the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract from Hy2gen Canada to deliver a 275 MW GenEco PEM electrolyzer system for the latter's "Courant" decarbonized ammonium nitrate project.
PLUG's Project Quantum Leap is also enabling it to boost its cash flow and reduce the cash burn rate. As part of the project, it is benefiting from sales growth, pricing actions, inventory and capex management, and increased leverage of its hydrogen production platform.
Near-Term Concerns Prevail
The major issue plaguing Plug Power is its inability to generate positive gross margins and cash inflows. It recorded a gross margin of negative 13% in first-quarter 2026. Meanwhile, its operating cash outflow totaled $150 million in the first quarter.
Also, PLUG's weak liquidity position remains a concern. Exiting first-quarter 2026, its cash equivalents totaled $223.2 million, reflecting a decrease of 39% from 2025-end. PLUG also operates in the highly competitive green hydrogen and fuel cell markets, which include major industry players like FuelCell Energy and Flux Power.
PLUG's Estimate Revisions
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for PLUG's 2026 bottom line has decreased in the past 60 days. However, the figure indicates year-over-year growth of 76.8%. In the same period, the consensus mark for the 2027 bottom line has increased, reflecting year-over-year growth of 52.3%.
Valuation
From a valuation standpoint, Plug Power is trading at a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of a negative 6.81X against the industry average of 0.01X. In comparison, FuelCell Energy and Flux Power are trading at (3.96X) and (3.76X), respectively.
Final Take
PLUG's growing footprint in the green hydrogen market, solid pipeline of projects, strong product portfolio and partnerships are likely to drive its long-term performance. Nevertheless, the ongoing challenges, including negative gross margins and cash outflows, are likely to continue impacting this Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) company's near-term performance.

Lululemon reported minimal growth last quarter
Lululemon reported its latest earnings numbers last week, and the results simply weren't good, and definitely not what you'd expect from a top growth stock, which is what Lululemon used to be.
Revenue of $2.5 billion for the period ending May 3 was up 4% year over year, but was just 2% on a constant-dollar basis. And its comparable sales were only up by 1%, which is a more useful indicator when assessing its organic growth. With such minimal growth, it's little wonder why investors have been dumping the stock this year. What was even more worrisome, however, was that its net income fell by 38% to $195 million.
In addition, the company slashed its guidance for earnings per share by over $1, now projecting a range of $10.95 to $11.15 for the full fiscal year (which ends around February).
The stock is cheap, but is it really just a value trap at this point?
Lululemon's value has declined by more than 60% in the past five years, with its market cap now around $14 billion. Its price-to-earnings multiple of 10 looks incredibly low given that the average stock on the S&P 500 trades at a multiple of around 26.
That's a steep discount, but it begs the question of whether it's simply a value trap. The business isn't doing well, profits are down, and its ability to return to growth is by no means a certainty, particularly at a time when there's rising competition and consumers are more sensitive to price.
New CEO Heidi O'Neill has a strong pedigree, with decades of experience at Nike, but a turnaround for Lululemon won't be easy. Is Lululemon Stock Too Cheap to Pass Up?

NIKE Inc. NKE is showing early signs of stabilization in its core footwear business following several quarters marked by inventory imbalances, elevated promotional activity and evolving consumer preferences. As the largest contributor to the company’s revenue base, footwear remains central to NIKE’s turnaround efforts. Recent management commentary suggests that the company is making progress in restoring marketplace health, improving product assortments and strengthening demand across key performance categories.
A notable sign of stabilization is the improving traction in strategic footwear segments such as running, basketball and global football. Management highlighted strong momentum in running and double-digit growth in football, reflecting positive consumer response to newer product offerings. At the same time, NIKE is intentionally reducing its dependence on older classic franchises and reallocating resources toward innovation-led platforms that can drive sustainable growth. This portfolio shift is aimed at improving product productivity while enhancing the overall quality of sales.
While encouraging signs are emerging, the recovery is far from complete. Footwear performance remains constrained by inventory-clearing efforts, elevated discounting and intense competition across key markets. Nevertheless, improving sell-through trends, stronger wholesale engagement and a more focused innovation pipeline indicate that the business may be moving toward a healthier footing. If NIKE can successfully balance inventory discipline with new product launches, its footwear segment could become a key catalyst for broader revenue and earnings stabilization.
Management’s focus on expanding newer performance franchises while reducing reliance on legacy styles should also support a healthier product mix. If these initiatives continue to gain traction, the footwear business could emerge from the current transition period with stronger growth and profitability prospects.
NKE’s Competition in the Global Arena

adidas is seeing encouraging signs of stability in its footwear business as strong demand for running, football and Originals continues to support growth across key markets. Management has emphasized product visibility, franchise strength and disciplined inventory management as drivers of healthier marketplace dynamics. Improved full-price sell-through and sustained consumer interest in both performance and lifestyle offerings suggest that adidas’ footwear segment is benefiting from stronger brand momentum and a more balanced product portfolio.
lululemon is steadily strengthening its footwear business through innovation and expansion across targeted categories. While footwear remains a smaller contributor compared with apparel, the company continues to broaden its product assortment and deepen consumer engagement through a premium, performance-focused approach. Supported by its loyal customer base, direct-to-consumer model and growing brand awareness, lululemon is positioning footwear as an important long-term growth opportunity while maintaining disciplined inventory and pricing strategies.
NKE’s Price Performance, Valuation & Estimates
Shares of NIKE have lost 24% in the past three months compared with the industry’s decline of 18.9%.

Is NIKE's Footwear Business Showing Signs of Stabilization?

A week ago, I predicted that Lululemon Athletica (NASDAQ:LULU) stock would take a beating if the company reported weak earnings or lowered its 2026 guidance. And unfortunately, both of those things happened when the company posted its fiscal 2026 first-quarter report on June 4.
Now the company is trading at an eight-year low, having fallen more than 12% post-earnings. Where does the athleisure company go from here?

Lululemon’s earnings by the numbers
First, let’s see what happened. For the quarter ending May 3, Lululemon posted revenue of $2.47 billion, up from $2.37 billion a year ago. However, the cost of goods sold jumped 14% year over year, pushing the company’s gross profit down by more than 4%. On top of that, Lululemon’s selling and general expenses rose 12.4%, to $1.05 billion. All that led to the company’s net income falling 38% to $195 million for the quarter. Earnings per share were $1.69, versus $2.60 in the same period a year ago.
While Lululemon is growing in popularity in China, its biggest problem lies in domestic sales, as revenue and comparable sales in the U.S. were down significantly from last year.

Management also cut full-year guidance, now projecting revenue of $11 billion to $11.15 billion, a decline of up to 1% from a year ago. Earnings per share are expected to be in the range of $10.95 to $11.15.
Interim co-CEO Meghan Frank acknowledged “a few headwinds and a moderating sales trend” and placed the blame on poor product launches and “spikes of negative commentary in the media and on social channels with regard to our brand, which had an impact on traffic and overall top-line performance.”
A proxy fight takes a toll on earnings
Frank didn’t mention him by name, but at least part of that negative commentary stemmed from a very public proxy fight with founder Chip Wilson, which was settled just days before the earnings report. Wilson, who left the company in 2013 and continues to hold nearly 9% of the company’s stock, has been an outspoken critic, accusing the company of squandering "billions of dollars in brand power."
Wilson had also criticized Lululemon’s newly hired CEO, former Nike executive Heidi O’Neill. O’Neill won’t start work at Lululemon until Sept. 8, so the company still has several months of interim leadership before O’Neill takes over.

However, Lululemon won’t have to worry about Wilson being a public distraction. The founder agreed to an 18-month non-disparagement clause as part of its settlement, which also saw Lululemon agree to add two of Wilson’s candidates to the board of directors.
Where does Lululemon go from here?
The company faces significant challenges, as tariffs and higher fuel and other expenses pressure margins. Lululemon has applied for a refund of the tariffs following the Supreme Court’s ruling that they were illegal. But it’s unclear when those refunds will be processed.
Lululemon’s premium line of yoga and training pants, shorts, and tops also leaves little room for the company to reduce prices to boost sales. The company plans to reduce in-store offerings by 15% to better highlight newer products and improve its marketing and community engagement.
However, some analysts are skeptical that it will pay off in the short term. “We do not believe the root of the challenges has been fully diagnosed and see the company as being in a holding pattern as we await the arrival of incoming CEO Heidi O’Neill in September,” BTIG analyst Janine Stichter wrote in a note to clients. Another analyst, BNP Paribas Securities, downgraded the stock to “Underperform” and cut its price target from $179 to $88. Stifel analyst Peter McGoldrick cut his price target from $176 to $134, although he maintained his “Hold” rating.
Now down 43% this year and trading at its lowest level since 2018, Lululemon faces a long road back and has substantial hurdles to clear. This is a stock to avoid for now.

Lululemon Athletica's (NASDAQ: LULU) tough year just got worse after the company lowered its full-year guidance following its fiscal first-quarter results. The stock is now down about 45% on the year and 65% over the past year, as of this writing.
Let's take a closer look at the apparel company's most recent results and prospects to see whether a turnaround is near or it's time to throw in the towel.

The struggles continue
While Lululemon reported slightly better-than-expected Q1 results, the company lowered full-year guidance, noting it began to see moderating sales trends in the quarter. It blamed negative commentary both in the press and on social media, while saying some product launches fell flat, including its New Look of Yoga campaign.
While the company said it is moving with urgency, Lululemon's new CEO is not coming on board until September. The former CEO announced his departure in December, so the struggling company will essentially go nine months without permanent leadership.
For the first quarter, Lululemon's overall revenue rose 4% year over year to $2.47 billion, coming in ahead of the $2.43 billion consensus, as compiled by LSEG. Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) tumbled 35% to $1.69 but edged past the $1.68 consensus.
Once again, there was a big convergence between Lululemon's North American and international results. Americas revenue sank by 3%, while comparable-store sales decreased by 5%. International revenue, meanwhile, jumped 22%, with same-store sales rising 13%. China's revenue soared 30%, while same-store sales climbed 13%.
Gross margin declined by 410 basis points to 54.2%, hurt by tariffs and fixed cost deleveraging. The company expects gross margins to decrease by 90 basis points this fiscal year.
Looking ahead, Lululemon forecast sales in a range of $11 billion to $11.15 billion, representing a 1% decline to break even. It now expects adjusted EPS in a range of $10.95 to $11.15. That compares with earlier guidance for EPS of $12.10 to $12.30 on sales of between $11.35 billion and $11.5 billion, representing growth of 2% to 4%.
The company expects sales to fall by 2% to 3% in fiscal Q2.
Can the stock rebound?
Lululemon will essentially remain a rudderless ship until September, when former Nike exec Heidi O'Neill will take over the helm. However, the end of her time at Nike is not exactly remembered fondly, as she played key roles in the company's struggles under former Nike CEO John Donahoe.
While Lululemon stock is cheap, trading at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of under 10.5 times, I'd prefer to see some progress made, or at least the new CEO's plan, before jumping into the name.

Can Lululemon Stocks Stage a Turnaround, or Is It Time to Throw in the Towel?

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Friday closed down -2.64%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) closed down -1.35%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed down -4.77%. June E-mini S&P futures (ESM26) fell -2.97%, and June E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQM26) fell -5.09%.
Stock indexes sold off sharply on Friday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 posting 2-week lows. Investors rotated out of AI-infrastructure and semiconductor companies and sold megacap technology stocks that earlier this week pushed US stock indexes to all-time highs. Technology stocks retreated amid long liquidation and profit-taking after Broadcom’s outlook for chip sales fell short of high expectations, raising concerns that the AI trade rally has been excessive.

Stock indexes added to their losses on Friday as bond yields soared on the stronger-than-expected US May payrolls report, bolstering speculation that the Fed’s next interest rate move will be a rate hike. The 10-year T-note yield rose to a 2-week high of 4.55%.
US May nonfarm payrolls rose +172,000, stronger than expectations of +88,000. Also, Apr nonfarm payrolls were revised upward to +179,000 from the previously reported +115,000. The May unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.3%, right on expectations.
US May average hourly earnings rose +0.3% m/m and +3.4% y/y, right on expectations.
US Apr consumer credit increased by $20.733 billion, stronger than expectations of $17.670 billion.
Crude oil prices fell more than -2% on Friday, even as the US and Iran have made little progress in talks over an interim peace deal, with clashes between Israel and Hezbollah militants continuing in Lebanon. Iran insists on a ceasefire in Lebanon before accepting a US deal to extend the truce and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump said Thursday that negotiations with Iran are in the “final” stages without elaborating, while Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi earlier said there had been “no tangible progress” even though both sides continue to exchange messages via mediators.
The markets are discounting a 1% chance of a +25 bp rate hike at the next FOMC meeting on June 16-17.
The generally favorable Q1 earnings season is winding down. As of Friday, 84% of the 496 S&P 500 companies that reported Q1 earnings have beaten estimates. Q1 S&P 500 earnings are projected to climb +12% y/y, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. Stripping out the technology sector, Q1 earnings are projected to increase around +3%, the weakest in two years.
Overseas stock markets settled lower on Friday. The Euro Stoxx 50 closed down -0.68%. China's Shanghai Composite fell to a 7-week low and closed down -0.74%. Japan's Nikkei Stock Average closed down -1.31%.
Interest Rates
September 10-year T-notes (ZNU6) on Friday closed down -16.5 ticks, and the 10-year T-note yield rose +6.9 bp to 4.542%. Sep T-note prices tumbled to a 2-week low on Friday, and the 10-year T-note yield rose to a 2-week high of 4.552%. T-notes retreated on Friday amid a stronger-than-expected increase in US May nonfarm payrolls and a sharp upside revision to April nonfarm payrolls, bolstering speculation that the next Fed move will be an interest rate increase.
European government bond yields moved higher on Friday. The 10-year German Bund yield climbed to a 2-week high of 3.051% and finished up +1.6 bp to 3.038%. The 10-year UK gilt yield rose +0.5 bp to 4.903%.
Eurozone Q1 GDP was revised downward to -0.2% q/q and +0.3% y/y from the previously reported +0.1% q/q and +0.8% y/y.
Swaps are discounting a 100% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on June 11.
US Stock Movers
Chipmakers and AI-infrastructure stocks are retreating for a second day today after Broadcom’s outlook for chip sales fell short of high expectations, raising concerns over whether the rally in the AI trade has been excessive. Marvell Technology (MRVL) closed down more than -16% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100, and Micron Technology (MU) closed down more than -13%. Also, ARM Holdings Plc (ARM) closed down more than -12%, and Intel (INTC), Sandisk (SNDK), ON Semiconductor (ON), and Western Digital (WDC) closed down more than -10%. In addition, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Qualcomm (QCOM) closed down more than -9%, and Applied Materials (AMAT), KLA Corp (KLAC), Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX), and Lam Research (LRCX) closed down more than -8%. Finally, Broadcom (AVGO), NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI), and Microchip Technology (MCHP) closed down more than -7%, and ASML Holding NV (ASML) and Texas Instruments (TXN) closed down more than -6%.
The Magnificent Seven technology stocks fell sharply on Friday. Tesla (TSLA) and Nvidia (NVDA) closed down more than -6%, and Meta Platforms (META) closed down more than -5%. Also, Amazon.com (AMZN) closed down more than -3%, and Microsoft (MSFT) closed down more than -2%. In addition, Alphabet (GOOGL) and Apple (AAPL) closed down more than -1%.
Cryptocurrency-exposed stocks sank on Friday, as Bitcoin (^BTCUSD) fell more than -5% to a 20-month low. Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY) closed down more than -11%, and MARA Holdings (MARA) and Riot Platforms (RIOT) closed down more than -10%. Also, Coinbase Global (COIN) closed down more than -7%, and Strategy (MSTR) closed down more than -6%.
Mining stocks sold off on Friday as gold, silver, and copper prices plunged. Hecla Mining (HL) closed down more than -12%, and Coeur Mining (CDE) closed down more than -11%. Also, Southern Copper (SCCO) closed down more than -10%, and Freeport McMoRan (FCX) closed down more than 9%. In addition, Anglogold Ashanti (AU) closed down more than -8%, and Newmont Corp (NEM) and Barrick Mining (B) closed down more than -7%.
Defensive consumer staple companies rallied on Friday amid the broader market's plunge. Clorox (CLX) closed up more than +5%, and Procter & Gamble (PG) closed up more than +4% to lead gainers in the Dow Jones Industrials. Also, Kimberly-Clark (KMB) and Colgate-Palmolive (CL) closed up more than +4%, and Coca-Cola (KO) and Tyson Foods (TSN) closed up more than +3%.
Guidewire Software (GWRE) closed down more than -9% after forecasting Q4 subscription and support revenue of $259 million to $265 million, the midpoint below the consensus of $263.6 million.
Lululemon Athletica (LULU) closed down more than -8% after cutting its 2027 net revenue forecast to $11 billion to $11.15 billion from a previous forecast of $11.35 billion to $11.50 billion, below the consensus of $11.49 billion.
DocuSign (DOCU) closed down more than -6% after forecasting a full-year adjusted gross margin of 81.5% to 82%, the midpoint below the consensus of 81.8%.
Fiserv (FISV) closed down more than -3% after BNP Paribas downgraded the stock to underperform from neutral with a price target of $46.
Cooper Cos (COO) closed up more than +8% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q2 net sales of $1.08 billion, better than the consensus of $1.05 billion.
G-III Apparel Group Ltd (GIII) closed up more than +5% after boosting its 2027 adjusted EPS forecast to $2.15 to $2.25 from a previous estimate of $2.00 to $2.10, above the consensus of $2.09.
ServiceTitan (TTAN) closed up more than +4% after reporting Q1 revenue of $268.8 million, above the consensus of $256.7 million.
Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) closed up more than +4% after JPMorgan Chase upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral with a price target of $35.

Stocks Settle Sharply Lower as Tech Companies Routed

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) today is down -1.00%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) is down -0.26%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) is down -2.08%. June E-mini S&P futures (ESM26) are down -1.11%, and June E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQM26) are down -2.28%.
Stock indexes are plummeting today, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 falling to 2-week lows as investors rotate out of AI-infrastructure and semiconductor stocks that earlier this week pushed the US stock index to all-time highs. Technology stocks continue to pull back amid long liquidation and profit-taking after Broadcom’s outlook for chip sales fell short of high expectations, raising concerns that the AI trade rally has been excessive.

Stock indexes added to their losses today as bond yields jumped on the stronger-than-expected US May payrolls report, bolstering speculation that the Fed’s next interest rate move will be a rate hike. The 10-year T-note yield rose to a 2-week high of 4.54%.
US May nonfarm payrolls rose +172,000, stronger than expectations of +88,000. Also, Apr nonfarm payrolls were revised upward to +179,000 from the previously reported +115,000. The May unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.3%, right on expectations.
US May average hourly earnings rose +0.3% m/m and +3.4% y/y, right on expectations.
Crude oil prices are down more than -2% today, even as the US and Iran have made little progress in talks over an interim peace deal, with clashes between Israel and Hezbollah militants continuing in Lebanon. Iran insists on a ceasefire in Lebanon before accepting a US deal to extend the truce and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump said Thursday that negotiations with Iran are in the “final” stages without elaborating, while Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi earlier said there had been “no tangible progress” even though both sides continue to exchange messages via mediators.
The markets are discounting a 3% chance of a +25 bp rate hike at the next FOMC meeting on June 16-17.
The generally favorable Q1 earnings season is winding down. As of today, 83% of the 494 S&P 500 companies that reported Q1 earnings have beaten estimates. Q1 S&P 500 earnings are projected to climb +12% y/y, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. Stripping out the technology sector, Q1 earnings are projected to increase around +3%, the weakest in two years.
Overseas stock markets are lower today. The Euro Stoxx 50 is down -0.56%. China's Shanghai Composite fell to a 7-week low and closed down -0.74%. Japan's Nikkei Stock Average closed down -1.31%.
Interest Rates
September 10-year T-notes (ZNU6) today are down -16 ticks, and the 10-year T-note yield is up +7.1 bp to 4.553%. Sep T-note prices tumbled to a 2-week low today, and the 10-year T-note yield rose to a 2-week high of 4.544%. T-notes retreated today on the stronger-than-expected increase in US May nonfarm payrolls and the sharp upside revision to April nonfarm payrolls, bolstering speculation that the next move by the Fed will be an interest rate increase.
European government bond yields are moving higher today. The 10-year German Bund yield climbed to a 2-week high of 3.051% and is up +1.6 bp to 3.038%. The 10-year UK gilt yield is up +0.9 bp to 4.907%.
Eurozone Q1 GDP was revised downward to -0.2% q/q and +0.3% y/y from the previously reported +0.1% q/q and +0.8% y/y.
Swaps are discounting a 98% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on June 11.
US Stock Movers
Chipmakers and AI-infrastructure stocks are retreating for a second day today after Broadcom’s outlook for chip sales fell short of high expectations, raising concerns over whether the rally in the AI trade has been excessive. Super Micro Computer (SMCI) is down more than -7% to lead losers in the S&P 500, and ARM Holdings Plc (ARM) is down more than -7% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100. Also, ON Semiconductor (ON), Intel (INTC), Marvell Technology (MRVL), and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are down more than -6%, and Micron Technology (MU), NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI), Sandisk (SNDK), Qualcomm (QCOM), and KLA Corp (KLAC) are down more than -5%. In addition, Lam Research (LRCX), Applied Materials (AMAT), Broadcom (AVGO), ASML Holding NV (ASML), Texas Instruments (TXN), and Western Digital (WDC) are down more than -4%.
Cryptocurrency-exposed stocks are tumbling today, with Bitcoin (^BTCUSD) down more than -4% at a 20-month low. Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY) is down more than -11%, and MARA Holdings (MARA) is down more than -9%. Also, Riot Platforms (RIOT) is down more than -8%, Strategy (MSTR) is down more than -7%, and Coinbase Global (COIN) is down more than -6%.
Mining stocks are selling off today with gold, silver, and copper prices sharply lower. Coeur Mining (CDE) and Hecla Mining (HL) are down more than -9%, and Southern Copper (SCCO) is down more than -8%. Also, Freeport McMoRan (FCX) and Anglogold Ashanti (AU) are down more than 6%, and Newmont Corp (NEM) and Barrick Mining (B) are down more than -5%.
Guidewire Software (GWRE) is down more than -8% after forecasting Q4 subscription and support revenue of $259 million to $265 million, the midpoint below the consensus of $263.6 million.
Lululemon Athletica (LULU) is down more than -6% after cutting its 2027 net revenue forecast to $11 billion to $11.15 billion from a previous forecast of $11.35 billion to $11.50 billion, below the consensus of $11.49 billion.
DocuSign (DOCU) is down more than -4% after forecasting a full-year adjusted gross margin of 81.5% to 82%, the midpoint below the consensus of 81.8%.
Fiserv (FISV) is down more than -3% after BNP Paribas downgraded the stock to underperform from neutral with a price target of $46.
G-III Apparel Group Ltd (GIII) is up more than +9% after boosting its 2027 adjusted EPS forecast to $2.15 to $2.25 from a previous estimate of $2.00 to $2.10, above the consensus of $2.09.
Cooper Cos (COO) is up more than +7% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 after reporting Q2 net sales of $1.08 billion, better than the consensus of $1.05 billion.
ServiceTitan (TTAN) is up more than +7% after reporting Q1 revenue of $268.8 million, above the consensus of $256.7 million.
Argan (AGX) is up more than +6% after reporting Q1 revenue of $291 million, stronger than the consensus of $256 million.
Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) is up more than +4% after JPMorgan Chase upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral with a price target of $35.
Samsara (IOT) is up more than +1% after reporting Q1 revenue of $478.8 million, above the consensus of $455.2 million.
