Jefferies (JEF) Q4 Earnings on the Horizon: Analysts' Insights on Key Performance Measures

It wasn't because of any news coming from the biotech.
Rather, a rival's setback brought the bulls into its stock.
A competitor's setback was Xeris Biopharma's (NASDAQ: XERS) gain on Hump Day. On news that a potential commercial threat to one of its three commercialized drugs had been neutralized (at least for now), investors piled into Xeris stock, sending it to a more than 7% price gain. A bullish analyst note reinforced this positive sentiment.
A fateful FDA decision
That would-be rival is Xeris's fellow biotech Corcept Therapeutics. Wednesday morning, the company announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had not approved its relacorilant, a medication used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) associated with the hormonal disorder hypercortisolism, also known as Cushing's syndrome.

In the FDA's complete response letter, Corcept stated in a press release that the regulator cited the lack of additional evidence of the drug's effectiveness as a key reason behind its decision. Corcept has vowed to continue attempting to get the treatment approved; however, this will likely necessitate more clinical trials (which can be lengthy and expensive).
The rally in Xeris stock was largely due to a sense of relief. After all, the company's Recorlev -- originally developed by Strongbridge Biopharma, which Xeris acquired in 2021 -- earned FDA approval for the treatment of Cushing's syndrome at the end of that year. This well-established medication, then, won't have to contend with an upstart.
Triple play?
This was the crux of the analyst update, published by Jefferies's Glen Santangelo that morning. In reiterating his buy recommendation and $10 price target on Xeris, according to reports, the analyst wrote that the addressable market for Cushing's disease should continue to grow, with the company benefiting more than it would have if Corcept's drug had won approval.
According to Santangelo's calculations, the current $1 billion U.S. market could triple by 2030 if awareness of the disorder increases sufficiently.
That might be somewhat optimistic, but Corcept's loss is almost indisputably a gain for Xeris. I'd be optimistic about the company's future, too.

The stock of commercial-stage biotech Travere Therapeutics (NASDAQ: TVTX) barreled into the late holiday period in style. On a pair of new analyst notes covering the company, investors piled into its shares to leave them with an almost 14% gain on Hump Day.
Buyout potential
The first of those two updates was authored by Jefferies's Maury Raycroft. He flagged five biotechs as being particularly juicy takeover candidates in 2026, and Travere made the list. The pundit singled out the company's Filspari as being a choice asset, writing that it could be a blockbuster drug for its developer.

The drug has been submitted for approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a kidney disorder. The regulator set Jan. 13, 2026, as the deadline for its decision.
In early 2024, Travere won full approval from the American regulator for Filspari to treat another kidney affliction, immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN).
Indications are good for the new indication, analyst says
On Wednesday morning, Cantor Fitzgerald published an update on Travere, stating that the FDA was signaling potential approval of Filspari. According to reports, Cantor Fitzgerald believes the agency appears to have some flexibility in approving the drug, which bodes well for its future.
The latest indications, then, seem to be quite positive for Travere's kidney treatment. Although Raycroft's take is an interesting one, I wouldn't invest in Travere solely on the prospect of a buyout by a strategic investor. Rather, I'd be bullish on the company if I believed the drug could reach, or at least approach, blockbuster status.

Why Travere Therapeutics Stock Popped by Nearly 14% on Wednesday

Few trends have had a bigger impact on the stock market than artificial intelligence (AI). Some of the biggest tech companies tied to the trend continued to lead the stock market higher in 2025, even after producing phenomenal gains in 2023 and 2024. Many popular AI stocks appear quite expensive after posting strong growth for three straight years. But analysts still see plenty of upsides for a handful of companies riding the AI wave.
Here are three AI stocks with great upside in 2026, with select analysts' price targets suggesting as much as 88% upside for the year.

1. Adobe (41% implied upside)
Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE) stock has struggled in recent years, as many investors are concerned that AI will negatively impact its core photo and video editing software. Meanwhile, the company continues to produce solid operating results, steadily growing its top line through both customer acquisition and increased pricing. Both of those improving metrics are actually bolstered by Adobe's efforts to incorporate AI into its products.
The company has seen strong adoption of Adobe Express since launching the freemium software in 2021. It serves as an important funnel to its premium Creative Cloud package, as well as a source of revenue. Management says it saw "significant" MAU growth last quarter, fueled by new AI Assistant features for content creation and editing.
Overall, Adobe's entire portfolio of freemium offerings counts over 70 million users, and overall MAU growth across Acrobat, Creative Cloud, Express, and Firefly exceeded 15% last quarter.
Management's outlook for 2026 called for just over 9% revenue growth, but digging deeper into Adobe's financial results suggests it could outperform that forecast. Annual recurring revenue for 2025 climbed 11.5%, and management said it will grow double digits in 2026. Remaining performance obligations climbed 12.8% year over year.
Two analysts from Jefferies and DA Davidson have both recently set a price target of $500 on Adobe shares. That represents about 41% upside from the stock price, as of this writing.
With Adobe's forward P/E sitting at less than 15, it has a lot of upside. Continued strong operating results could eventually turn investor sentiment and support multiple expansion while it grows earnings, leading to strong stock returns in 2026.
2. Atlassian (85% implied upside)
Atlassian (NASDAQ: TEAM) develops enterprise software to help businesses plan projects and collaborate effectively. While it initially focused on teams of software engineers, it has since expanded to general use, now serving over 300,000 customers and millions of monthly active users.
The company is currently migrating customers from being able to install its software on their own private data centers to using its cloud-based platform. The migration is going well, and integrating new AI features into the cloud platform has helped accelerate adoption. Management said it has over 3.5 million AI monthly active users, up from 2.3 million in the prior quarter. Cloud revenue climbed 26% last quarter, and remaining performance obligations climbed 42%, indicating a long runway of growth ahead.
The data center business will officially cease operations in March 2029. That will enable Atlassian to focus exclusively on a single platform, reducing its overhead costs. It should also allow it to roll out new features or modules for its software more easily, as it doesn't have to worry about various data center configurations, giving it more opportunities to upsell customers.
Bernstein analyst Peter Weed put a $304 price target on the stock in mid-November after digesting the company's first-quarter earnings. That implies upside of about 85% from the stock price, as of this writing. Considering the rapid top-line growth exceeding 20% per year and the potential for margin expansion, there's a lot of potential for earnings growth going forward. Even at a forward P/E of approximately 32, the stock appears to have sufficient growth potential to justify the price.
3. Marvell Technology (88% implied upside)
Marvell Technology (NASDAQ: MRVL) is a semiconductor company specializing in networking chips and custom AI accelerators. For the latter, it collaborates closely with Microsoft and Amazon on their Maia, Trainium, and Inferentia chips. It also works with other hyperscalers on custom silicon solutions to make the most of the hardware in their data centers.
Shares of the stock took a hit recently when The Information reported Microsoft was exploring a partnership with Broadcom for custom chips. Microsoft is reportedly planning a significant increase in custom silicon purchases once it begins producing the Maia300 chip. Fubon Research said the tech giant plans to buy as much as $12 billion worth of the chip in calendar 2027. That represents a huge amount of potential business for Marvel, which brought in less than $8 billion over the last four quarters.
So, a report that Microsoft might source chips from rival Broadcom is concerning for Marvell, but the truth is, Marvell was unlikely to maintain a monopoly over any hyperscaler's business. To that end, CEO Matt Murphy noted it hasn't lost any business from Microsoft, or Amazon for that matter. Marvell should be able to continue growing quickly thanks to its custom AI accelerator business through 2026 and beyond, as the trend toward custom silicon accelerates.
Evercore ISI analyst Mark Lipacis raised his price target on the stock to $156 earlier this month. That implies upside of about 88% from the stock's price, as of this writing. He views management's strategic moves, such as the recent acquisition of Celestial AI, and its position in custom AI and data center solutions, as keys to sustained growth.
At less than 30 times forward earnings, the stock looks attractive relative to its growth prospects.

CoreWeave: Shaping the future of artificial intelligence and cloud computing
CoreWeave is a neocloud, sometimes called an artificial intelligence (AI) cloud or graphics processing unit (GPU) cloud. Regardless of terminology, the company is the leader among an emerging class of cloud services providers whose data center infrastructure is purpose-built for AI workloads like training and inference.
Research company SemiAnalysis recently ranked CoreWeave as the most capable provider of cloud AI services, scoring its platform above technology giants Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet. Analyst Dylan Patel wrote, "CoreWeave continues to set the benchmark for AI cloud performance by demonstrating strong technical execution and operational maturity."
CoreWeave reported solid third-quarter financial results. Revenue increased 134% to $1.3 billion on strong demand for AI infrastructure. The company also reported a narrower GAAP loss of $0.22 per diluted share, up from $1.82 per diluted share in the prior year. Finally, cash from operations increased more than 100% to $1.7 billion.
Nevertheless, the stock has fallen 36% since the reported because management lowered its full-year guidance and investors are worried about an AI bubble. Those concerns are overblown. The lower guidance reflects postponed (not lost) revenue due to data center construction delays, and Grand View Research says cloud AI spending will increase at 40% annually through 2030.
CoreWeave stock currently trades at 6.5 times sales. That is very reasonable (if not cheap) for a company whose revenue is projected to increase at 95% annually through 2027. That forecast suggests analysts are confident CoreWeave will keep growing at a rapid clip because of deep customer relationships with AI giants Microsoft, Meta Platforms, and OpenAI. Also, Nvidia has agreed to purchase any unsold compute capacity through April 2032. Investors with a time horizon of at least three years should consider buying a small position.
Circle Internet Group: Shaping the future of global finance
Circle is a fintech company that issues stablecoins and provides software tools that allow developers to integrate digital asset storage and payments into their applications. Its best-known product is USDC, the second largest stablecoin by market value, but the largest one that adheres to stringent regulations in the U.S. and Europe.
Interest payments are the primary source of revenue. USDC tokens are backed by an equal amount of dollar-denominated financial assets like Treasury bills and other government securities. However, the company is expanding into payments with the Circle Payments Network (CPN), which promises faster and cheaper transactions across use cases ranging from employee payroll to e-commerce.
Circle reported encouraging financial results in the third quarter. Revenue increased 66% to $740 million despite a modest reduction in interest rates because the circulating volume of USDC increased 108%. Meanwhile, adjusted EBITDA increased 78% to $166 million.
Management also provided two important updates: First, the CPN now includes 29 financial institutions, with more than 500 potential customers in the pipeline. Second, the company started testing its Arc blockchain, which resolves the problem of unpredictable gas fees on other blockchains.
Looking ahead, stablecoin revenue is projected to increase at 54% annually through 2030. JPMorgan Chase says USDC is the preferred stablecoin among financial institutions because of its focus on regulatory compliance. That makes Circle an attractive long-term investment, especially when the stock trades at 7.6 times sales, nearly the cheapest valuation since its June IPO.

Buy 5 Non-Tech Stocks on the Dip to Strengthen Your Portfolio in 2026

Stock splits in high-profile companies have piqued the interest of retail investors and Wall Street professionals this year.
The market's blockbuster stock split of 2025 can soar 55% in the new year, based on the projections from one Wall Street analyst.
Meanwhile, the highest-profile reverse split could rise by triple digits, but it has an undeniably bumpy road ahead.
Since the beginning of 2023, no innovation has garnered more attention on Wall Street than the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). However, AI isn't the only trend that's been lifting the stock market's tide. Investor euphoria regarding stock splits in influential businesses has played an important role in fueling optimism on Wall Street.
In 2025, five brand-name companies have taken the plunge and completed splits, including Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX), O'Reilly Automotive (NASDAQ: ORLY), Lucid Group (NASDAQ: LCID), Fastenal (NASDAQ: FAST), and Interactive Brokers Group (NASDAQ: IBKR).

A stock split is a tool publicly traded companies have at their disposal to cosmetically adjust their share price and outstanding share count by the same factor. These changes are purely superficial in the sense that they don't affect a company's market cap or operating performance.
In addition to piquing the interest of everyday investors, stock splits can also garner the attention of Wall Street professionals. Based on the high-water price targets of select Wall Street analysts, two of the aforementioned five high-profile stock-split stocks offer up to 135% upside in 2026.
Netflix: Implied upside of 55%
The first high-flying stock-split stock that at least one Wall Street analyst believes can soar in the new year is streaming services provider Netflix, which completed a 10-for-1 forward split in mid-November.
On July 18, Jefferies analyst James Hawley kept his firm's buy rating on Netflix stock but upped the price target to $1,500, which is now a split-adjusted $150 per share and represents 55% upside from where shares closed on Dec. 8. In the research note, Hawley highlighted that North American sales growth (U.S. and Canada) has jumped to 15% from 9%, which suggests customer churn remains low, even as the company has increased its prices.
The note also adds that Netflix can grow its earnings per share (EPS) by more than 20% annually over the next three to five years.
There's little question that Netflix continues to ride its first-mover advantage to substantial profits. It's overseen more original content releases than any of its peers, with shows like Stranger Things and Squid Game attracting new subscribers and ensuring existing customers remain within its ecosystem.
Netflix has also been successful with its innovation beyond the big screen. A little over three years ago, the company introduced an advertising-based tier as a more affordable option for its streaming subscribers. As of May 2025, approximately 94 million people had signed up for this ad-driven option.
Likewise, Netflix finally cracked down on password-sharing in May 2023 by requiring that accounts remain within a single household. The solutions offered by the company, which include paying for an extra member or having people outside the household set up a paid account in their name, have boosted total subscribers and profitability.
But it's not clear if Netflix shares can reach this lofty price target in 2026, given its recently announced deal to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, following the separation of Discovery Global, for $82.7 billion, which works out to $23.25 per share in cash and $4.50 per share in Netflix stock.
On paper, the deal makes plenty of sense, with Netflix gaining access to HBO and HBO Max, as well as Warner Bros.' valuable studio segment. However, serious antitrust questions will arise from this deal, which could cast a grey cloud above the company's stock throughout much of 2026. While this doesn't mean the deal won't get done, the legal and profit-driven uncertainties associated with this buyout may weigh on Netflix for the foreseeable future.
Lucid Group: Implied upside of 135%
Whereas Netflix, O'Reilly Automotive, Fastenal, and Interactive Brokers Group all completed forward splits this year, electric-vehicle (EV) maker Lucid Group was the most-hyped reverse split of 2025. Its 1-for-10 reverse split, which lifted its share price from around $2 to closer to $20, went into effect in early September.
Investors typically gravitate toward public companies announcing and completing forward splits, and shy away from businesses that undertake reverse splits. Companies that need to increase their share price are often struggling on an operating basis and splitting their shares to avoid delisting from a major stock exchange.
Despite what history tells us, Benchmark's Mickey Legg has an optimistic view of Lucid Group stock for 2026. Even though he lowered his firm's price target on the company this year, the $30 Legg expects for Lucid shares would imply upside of 135%!
Legg's optimism for Lucid crescendoed in mid-July, which is when Lucid announced a partnership with Uber Technologies and privately held Nuro to launch a global robotaxi program. Lucid will be responsible for delivering 20,000 (or more) of its Gravity SUVs over six years.
However, Lucid has endured several missteps during its attempted production ramp-up, to the point where it's becoming difficult for investors to believe management's growth and production forecasts.
With Tesla moving away from its luxury Model S to mass-produce the more affordable Model 3 sedan, the luxury EV space was ripe for the taking. But due to a myriad of supply chain issues that coincided with and followed the COVID-19 pandemic, Lucid Air sedan production and delivery figures have been a major disappointment. While management had predicted 90,000 units of production for 2024 when the company went public in 2021, guidance had fallen to just 9,000 units of production by the time 2024 arrived.
Lucid also missed its opportunity with Gravity. Initially, the company's SUV was expected to hit showroom floors in 2024. This launch was eventually delayed until the spring of this year.
Perhaps the biggest snag in Legg's optimistic price target is Lucid's balance sheet. Although the company has received billions of dollars in backing from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, it's been burning cash and losing money at an extraordinary rate. It's burned through more than $2 billion in cash from its operating activities in the first nine months of 2025 and has lost close to $14.8 billion since the company was incepted.
Building an EV company from the ground up to mass production is a costly and time-consuming process. Lucid Group hasn't yet demonstrated that it possesses the necessary tools or intangibles to succeed, which makes it unlikely that Legg's lofty price target will be achieved in 2026.

2 Stock-Split Stocks With Up to 135% Upside in 2026, According to Select Wall Street Analysts

It isn't unusual for a biotech to raise capital after it posts positive results from a clinical trial. In the case of a new fundraising effort by Dyne Therapeutics (NASDAQ: DYN), however, investors aren't happy that the biotech is going to the well. Following the announcement of a significant secondary stock issue, market players traded out of Dyne on Tuesday, leaving its shares with a nearly 17% loss.
300 million reasons for concern
Just after market close on Monday, Dyne announced that it has launched an underwritten public offering of $300 million worth of its common stock. The underwriters of the issue, which include Morgan Stanley and Jefferies, have been granted a 30-day option to collectively purchase up to an additional $45 million.

In its offering prospectus, Dyne stated that it intends to use its share of the proceeds to advance its development programs. This comes on the heels of its successful phase 1/2 clinical trial for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) treatment zeleciment rostudirsen.
It also aims to build manufacturing assets for drugs it may win approval for in the future. It will also spend the funds on "working capital and other general corporate purposes."
The dilution problem
That $300 million to $345 million in new capital is going to be dilutive, given that Dyne's current market cap is a shade over $2.6 billion. Investors dislike share dilution, and they become quite uncomfortable when it reaches double-digit percentages.
While Tuesday's market reaction was understandable, then, Dyne has some good momentum with zeleciment rostudirsen, and the drug has much promise if it can eventually earn regulatory approval. If I were a Dyne shareholder, I'd stay the course with the stock and not be overly concerned with dilution.

Why Dyne Therapeutics Stock Tanked on Tuesday

(RTTNews) - Jefferies Financial Group Inc. (JEF), an investment banking and capital markets firm, Monday announced that it is acquiring a 50 percent stake in Hildene Holding Company, LLC, an asset management company.
Previously, the company was in a strategic relationship with Hildene in 2022 with Jefferies owning a revenue share in Hildene's asset-management business. Jefferies will exchange its revenue share, a portion of its interest in a Hildene-managed private fund and $340 million in cash for its 50 percent interest in Hildene.
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026 and Jefferies is expecting its investment in Hildene to be accretive immediately and to contribute to its net earnings consistently. The company also expects to record around $75 million pretax gain from the markup to fair market value of its pre-transaction interest in Hildene.
Jefferies cash investment in Hildene will be funded by $500 million reduction in the course of 2026 in Jefferies' investment in certain platforms and strategies in its Leucadia Asset Management division.
Coincidentally, Hildene has agreed to acquire SILAC, Inc., the parent company of SILAC Insurance Company, for $550 million in cash.
Jefferies will not consolidate Hildene or SILAC and will account for its investment using the equity method, whereby it will record its 50% share of Hildene's consolidated earnings, the company said in a statement.
In pre-market activity, JEF shares were trading at $60.41, up 2.18% on the New York Stock Exchange.
