Recent results reported by tech giants suggest that the AI race is heating up. The four hyperscalers—Amazon AMZN, Meta META, Microsoft MSFT, and Alphabet GOOGL—plan to invest nearly $400 billion over the next 12 months. A significant portion of this spending is expected to go toward NVIDIA’s (NVDA) AI chips.
The AI boom has triggered a surge in demand for data center capacity to handle AI workloads and store the vast amounts of data they generate. Data centers are already substantial energy consumers, and AI applications require even more power than traditional computing.

AI, Quantum, and the Future of Tech Investing

Looking at the underlying holdings of the ETFs in our coverage universe at ETF Channel, we have compared the trading price of each holding against the average analyst 12-month forward target price, and computed the weighted average implied analyst target price for the ETF itself. For the Invesco MSCI USA ETF (Symbol: PBUS), we found that the implied analyst target price for the ETF based upon its underlying holdings is $71.02 per unit.
With PBUS trading at a recent price near $64.83 per unit, that means that analysts see 9.55% upside for this ETF looking through to the average analyst targets of the underlying holdings. Three of PBUS's underlying holdings with notable upside to their analyst target prices are Eaton Corp plc (Symbol: ETN), Idexx Laboratories, Inc. (Symbol: IDXX), and Clorox Co (Symbol: CLX). Factors Likely to Have Shaped ROK’s Q3 Performance
Rockwell Automation reported negative 7.6% organic growth in first-quarter fiscal 2025 and negative 4% in the second quarter of fiscal 2025 due to lower sales volumes across all the company’s segments. The manufacturing sector remained in contraction through the quarter, as reflected in the Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing index with a 48.7% reading in April, 48.5% in May and 49% in June. The New Orders Index also remained below 50% throughout this period.
Customers have been pulling in orders due to anxiety about continued tariffs and pricing pressures. The impacts of this trend are also likely to get reflected in ROK’s order levels in the quarter under review.
Our model, thus, predicts an organic sales decline of 0.2% for the quarter.
ROK has faced margin headwinds in recent quarters, including higher logistics prices due to increased energy prices and constrained air freight lanes. Additionally, increased spending on talent and growth, an unfavorable mix, and currency are expected to have impacted its margins. The combination of lower sales and elevated costs is anticipated to have led to a decline in its earnings in the quarter.
Nonetheless, Rockwell Automation will continue to benefit from price increase actions to mitigate the impacts of inflationary pressures, which are likely to improve margins. ROK plans to mitigate tariff costs through pricing actions and supply-chain optimization. These tailwinds are likely to have aided growth in the to-be-reported quarter.
