Broadcom Inc. designs, develops, and supplies various semiconductor devices with a focus on complex digital and mixed signal complementary metal oxide semiconductor based devices and analog III-V based products worldwide. The company operates in two segments, Semiconductor Solutions and Infrastructure Software. It provides set-top box system-on-chips (SoCs); cable, digital subscriber line, and passive optical networking central office/consumer premise equipment SoCs; wireless local area network access point SoCs; Ethernet switching and routing custom silicon solutions; serializer/deserializer application specific integrated circuits; optical and copper, and physical layer devices; and fiber optic components and RF semiconductor devices. The company also offers RF front end modules and filter; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and global positioning system/global navigation satellite system SoCs; custom touch controllers; inductive charging; attached small computer system interface, and redundant array of independent disks controllers and adapters; peripheral component interconnect express; fiber channel host bus adapters; read channel based SoCs; custom flash controllers; preamplifiers; optocouplers, industrial fiber optics, and motion control encoders and subsystems; light emitting diode, ethernet PHYs, switch ICs, and camera microcontrollers. Its products are used in various applications, including enterprise and data center networking, home connectivity, set-top boxes, broadband access, telecommunication equipment, smartphones and base stations, data center servers and storage systems, factory automation, power generation and alternative energy systems, and electronic displays. Broadcom Inc. was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California.

Broadcom looks like a high-quality business, but one that is already valued very expensively: profitability and cash generation are strong, yet the valuation multiples are noticeably above industry benchmarks. Revenue has grown steadily in recent periods, and along with it gross profit, EBITDA, operating profit, and net profit have all increased, confirming resilient demand and good operating discipline. The margins are impressive: gross margin is around 68%, operating margin is above 43%, and net margin is nearly 39%, which is significantly above typical sector levels. Return on capital is also high: ROE, ROA, and ROI are at strong levels and are improving over time, which points to good business quality. Liquidity has become comfortable: the current ratio and quick ratio are above 2, and the cash position has strengthened noticeably compared with last year. At the same time, leverage remains significant, and long-term debt is large in absolute terms, so the balance sheet cannot be called risk-free. Dividend yield is modest and has declined over time, meaning the dividend factor is not the main driver of the valuation here. The main limiting factor is the very high P/E, P/S, P/B, and P/FCF ratios, which indicate a premium to the sector and limit the potential for further re-rating. The improvement in business quality is already largely reflected in the share price, so for an investor the key issue is not aggressive upside, but confirmation of growth rates and the preservation of margins. In this setup, fundamentals mostly support the current valuation, but do not justify a meaningful expansion of multiples. Therefore, the target forecast should be slightly reduced to account for the stock’s expensive valuation despite its still-strong operating base.

Broadcom’s strong profitability and growth are accompanied by very high multiples, so the fundamentals support only a moderately more cautious assessment.

There are three companies that are approaching a $3 trillion valuation mark and may reach it before investors know it. While Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is technically outside the $3 trillion valuation range, it spent significant time being valued above that threshold. The three stocks that I'm focused on are Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM), and Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO). All three of these companies are in striking distance and could breach the $3 trillion mark as soon as 2027 (or maybe even this year).
But which one will get there first? Let's take a look.

Amazon has a significant head start
The market caps of these three vary widely. Amazon is the closest to $3 trillion with a $2.5 trillion market cap. Taiwan Semiconductor is the next closest at a $2.1 trillion market cap. Broadcom is the furthest away at $1.8 trillion, although it has some tricks up its sleeve to make it seem not so far away from a $3 trillion valuation.
All three of these companies are somewhat related as well, as each is a significant player in the artificial intelligence (AI) build-out.
Amazon may seem like an oddball inclusion in the AI space, as most investors are focused solely on its e-commerce business. Still, the reality is that Amazon Web Services (AWS), its cloud computing business, is a major computing provider for AI firms. Amazon plans to spend around $200 billion on data centers this year to meet rising computing demand. Because it's spending so much on AI computing capacity, investors can expect rapid growth from AWS over the next few years, as new computing capacity increases the amount of revenue the business can generate. This will be exactly what Amazon needs to get to the $3 trillion mark.
Taiwan Semiconductor also has a fairly straightforward path. It's the leading maker of logic chips in the world. As long as companies like Amazon continue to spend heavily on AI computing equipment, its foundry services will be needed. That places TSMC in a perfect spot to benefit, and with its CEO, C.C. Wei, telling investors that he sees strong chip demand lasting through at least 2029 or 2030, there is plenty of growth left for TSMC.
Last is Broadcom. Broadcom entered the AI computing scene with its custom AI chips. These are starting to become a lot more popular, and Broadocm anticipates monster growth throughout the rest of 2026 and into 2027 as those custom AI chips move from the design stage to the production phase. This will lead to the fastest growth rate next year among the three, but is it enough to catch up and beat the others to the $3 trillion point?
All three are well positioned
First, let's see if any company has an out-of-line valuation that must be accounted for.
Although Broadcom is the most expensive, I don't think that's too pricey a valuation for the stock to trade at, and it is reasonable for the growth it expects. On the flip side, TSMC may be the cheapest, but its valuation is right in line with where it has historically traded, and the same can be said for Amazon, too.
As a result, I think stock growth will match business performance, so looking at anticipated growth rates is the best way for investors to project future success. Amazon has the slowest anticipated growth rates, with 15% growth expected this year and 13% next year. Amazon needs to rise 20% to get to the $3 trillion mark in 2027, and that looks well within reach.
Taiwan Semiconductor expects 42% revenue growth this year and 32% next year. With the stock needing to rise about 43% to reach $3 trillion, I think it's also well positioned to hit the $3 trillion mark, perhaps sooner than Amazon.
Broadcom has the longest way to go, needing to grow 67% to reach the $3 trillion mark. However, Wall Street anticipates 66% growth this year and 63% next year, so it easily has the chops to get to $3 trillion.
My guess is that TSMC will reach $3 trillion first, followed by Broadcom, then Amazon, if analyst projections are accurate. However, I think analysts are way undershooting the effect Amazon's new data centers will have on its revenue, and that Amazon will actually get there first despite a slower projected growth rate.

Let's look at three semiconductor stocks to buy into this sell-off.
Nvidia
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has been the biggest AI infrastructure winner, and it remains one of the best-positioned semiconductor stocks. Its CUDA software platform, where most foundational AI code was written, gives its graphics processing units (GPUs) a wide moat when it comes to AI model training.
Meanwhile, its move earlier this year to acquire Groq and its language processing units (LPUs) to handle the decoding phase of inference helps give it a strong offering in the inference market, as well.
The company also recently signed a large deal with SK Hynix in which the Korean memory maker will supply it with high-bandwidth memory (HBM), a vital component that needs to be packaged with AI chips. Since HBM is severely supply-constrained, this access gives the company a big edge.
With the stock trading at a forward price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) of just 15 times the analysts' consensus for fiscal 2028 (ending January 2028), it is a top growth stock trading at a cheap valuation. I would be a buyer while it's on sale.
Advanced Micro Devices
The faster they go up, the faster they go down. Shares of Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) have shot up this year on the back of its strong growth prospects, but they have been hit particularly hard in this recent chip sell-off. Still, the stock's price action doesn't impact the huge growth drivers the company has ahead.
AMD is just starting to see growth surge on tailwinds from inference and agentic AI. The company now has large deals in place with OpenAI, Meta Platforms, Anthropic, and Microsoft for its next-generation GPUs and Helios Rack systems to help run inference for these hyperscalers.
Management paid a hefty price to secure deals with OpenAI and Meta in the form of warrants for up to 10% of its stock, but it did open the doors for future growth and helped establish it as a strong No. 2 player in the space. These deals should drive tremendous revenue growth in the coming years.
At the same time, the company has a huge opportunity with agentic AI and its central processing unit (CPU) business. AI agents will require more CPUs in data centers, and AMD is a leader in this space. It now sees this market ballooning to $220 billion in the next few years.
With AMD having some of the best growth prospects in the industry, now can be a great time to buy the stock following its pullback.
Broadcom
Another semiconductor stock with huge growth ahead is Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO). The company helped Alphabet co-develop its tensor processing units (TPUs), and it is now riding that huge tailwind.
This has also led other hyperscalers to ask it to help them develop their own custom AI chips. Broadcom sees this producing more than $100 billion in sales for fiscal 2027 (ending October 2027), with Citigroup projecting its AI business could grow to $180 billion in fiscal 2028.
Broadcom has also smartly locked up HBM supply with Samsung Electronics, which likely means hyperscalers looking to produce custom AI chips at scale will have to turn to it for help. And its custom chip business also feeds into its fast-growing data center networking segment.
Following a sell-off in the stock, it now trades at a forward P/E of 19 based on fiscal 2027 analyst estimates, making this a great time to buy while it's cheap.

Semiconductor Crash: 3 Stocks to Buy Now While They Are Still on Sale

The Magnificent Seven, in order of value as of this writing, include Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Tesla. Today, Broadcom and Space Exploration Technologies are both larger than Tesla by market cap.

These companies, which are all artificial intelligence (AI) stocks, have soared to their current rankings due to rapid growth, much of which is recently associated with the explosion of AI. However, only two of them were beating the S&P 500 as of this writing: Apple and Nvidia.
Is this an ominous warning about what's happening in the markets?
Is the S&P 500 hitting new highs?
This is the fourth straight year that the S&P 500 is showing a gain. It's not uncommon for the market to remain in bull territory for four years in a row, and during the past 25 years -- since it recovered from the dot-com bubble -- it has lost value only four times annually.
As of this writing, the S&P 500 is up about 8% year to date. However, it's off its record high, and it has been little changed during the past two months.
Investors have been worried about high oil prices due to the Iran war, AI spending, and a richly valued stock market. Oil prices have been up and down since the war started in February, and that volatility has the market concerned about longer-term effects.
Higher oil prices can trickle down to higher prices in nearly every industry, since many companies rely on oil for production, and they have to pass along higher costs to consumers.
As for AI spending, Amazon stock has borne the brunt of the market's worries about it for the past few months. However, Alphabet's recent announcement about its own capital expenditure forecast, which topped Amazon's outlook at $205 billion, sent its stock down as well. In fact, Alphabet stock had been beating the market as well until the announcement. But all of the large companies have been spending quite freely, and that's worrying investors.
Lastly, investors also recognize that the market is heading toward its highest-ever valuation. The price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) is the standard valuation metric for most companies, but it has its drawbacks. It's unusable for companies that aren't profitable, and it doesn't account for anomalies, such as tax-advantaged or disadvantaged profits, one-time deviations, and inflation that distorts historical averages.
The cyclically adjusted P/E ratio, or CAPE ratio, was developed to account for most of these irregularities, and today, it stands at 41. Not only is that its second-highest figure ever since the metric was created, but it's also more than double the historical average of 17.8.
Why Nvidia and Apple are beating the market
Nvidia and Apple have both been up and down this year, but the market may see certain advantages in these stocks, the two most valuable companies in the world, as valuations rise and volatility increases. Many of the hottest AI stocks have begun to falter as fantastic gains outpace fundamental performance.
For example, chipmaker Sandisk continues to demonstrate phenomenal performance, but its P/E ratio has expanded as well, implying that stock growth is exceeding earnings growth. Many of the AI-adjacent stocks are in the same boat, and many have headed down recently.
Apple, on the other hand, laid low as AI exploded, and its cautious approach to AI development has proved to be savvy. Its iPhone remains the backbone of the company as it continues to be a hot seller, again proving that investing in its hardware, the known entity, rather than costly AI, was the right move.
Nvidia, at the same time, remains at the epicenter of the AI revolution for a number of reasons. It controls as much as 90% of the AI chip market, and it's deeply embedded in hyperscaler AI construction, so it is picking up a nice chunk of the spending.
In times like these, investors tend to head toward the safe stocks that can withstand market volatility, and Apple and Nvidia might fit the bill for many.

Only 2 "Magnificent Seven" Stocks Are Beating the Market This Year. What's Going On?

A while ago, Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX), better known as SpaceX, was a member of the $2 trillion club. However, it has sold off and fallen out of that group, and I don't think it has what it takes to get back above the $2 trillion threshold for a while.
Instead, I'm focusing on other stocks with fairly defined growth rates and profit levels that look like genius buys right now. The three that I think can get above $2 trillion by 2027 at the latest are Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO), Micron (NASDAQ: MU), and Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META). All three are fantastic investments and will be there before investors know it.

1. Broadcom
Broadcom is only a stone's throw away from the $2 trillion club, with a market cap of more than $1.8 trillion. However, I think it could cross the $2 trillion threshold before 2026 is over. That would be a solid gain in just about five months, but investors also need to be ready for what is coming in 2027.
While Broadcom does a lot as a company, its biggest growth area is custom artificial intelligence (AI) chips, which are becoming increasingly popular among AI hyperscalers. These specialized computing units excel in one area, and when used with a specific workload, they provide superior cost performance versus training using graphics processing units (GPUs). As a result, AI hyperscalers are deploying large numbers of these units.
Orders are ramping up, and management expects more than $100 billion in AI semiconductor revenue in 2027. For reference, AI semiconductor revenue was $10.8 billion in Q2 (or about $43.2 billion annualized). That's a huge jump, and will easily help Broadcom reach the $2 trillion mark if it can live up to that expectation.
2. Micron
Micron (NASDAQ: MU) is the furthest from $2 trillion, with a $940 billion valuation. If it more than doubles during the next year and a half, it'll be an excellent investment, and I think Micron could achieve it. It's a memory chip fabricator, and memory chips are in short supply right now, causing prices to skyrocket. This has led to soaring Micron revenue and profit.
However, Micron's growth is far from done. During fiscal 2027 (ending August 2027), Wall Street analysts estimate Micron's revenue growth at 84% and that its earnings per share (EPS) will more than double from $73.44 to $153.74. With the stock trading at just 5.8 times 2027's earnings estimates, I think Micron stock could easily double during the next year and a half, leading to strong gains for investors.
3. Meta Platforms
Last up is Meta Platforms, which is currently viewed negatively by the AI investment community. Investors are worried about how much money Meta is dumping into AI without much to show for it. Still, they are ignoring a strong advertising business that's benefiting from some of Meta's AI tools.
Furthermore, Meta may launch a cloud computing business unit. If Meta can turn the corner on its AI technology and offer something that rivals one of the other hyperscalers' products, then Meta could easily become a beloved stock on Wall Street and surge from its current $1.5 trillion valuation, easily crossing the $2 trillion mark along the way.
The company has a ways to go before this happens, but with Meta stock trading at an attractive 19 times forward earnings right now, it has plenty of room for its valuation to expand to pass the $2 trillion level in its current state, not to mention what it could be by the end of next year.

Prediction: 3 Unstoppable Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stocks That Will Join the $2 Trillion Club by 2027 (Hint: Not SpaceX)

Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX), better known as SpaceX, went public with a lot of fanfare. In the days following its initial public offering, that appeared to be justified, as the stock skyrocketed.
However, it has since crashed back to Earth and now trades for around $115. The reality is that the stock is trading at levels that aren't supported by its business financials, and there are several more-attractive stocks that investors should consider over SpaceX.

Three that top my list are Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) (TSMC), and Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO). They actually have business fundamentals that support their valuations, and each is growing faster than SpaceX.
SpaceX's valuation is stretched
First, let's look at valuations. As of this writing, SpaceX is about a $1.5 trillion company, while TSMC and Broadcom are slightly larger at $2.1 trillion and $1.8 trillion, respectively. Nvidia is substantially larger at a $5 trillion market cap, but it's still close enough that it's worth comparing.
We don't have any of SpaceX's trailing-12-month results, but we do have 2025 figures. That year, it generated $18.7 billion in revenue, growing 33%, and produced no net income. However, it aims to achieve a 45% net income margin when fully mature. If the company could snap its fingers and instantly achieve that, it would have net income of $8.4 billion.
Now, let's compare those figures to companies that are only slightly larger.
Despite SpaceX being in a similar valuation range with this trio, it's a long way off from generating the same level of profits and revenue. Its closest comparison, Broadcom, has generated more than four times more revenue during the past 12 months than SpaceX did in 2025. While that gap will close when we get SpaceX's trailing-12-month figure in its second-quarter results, it won't close that much.
And Broadcom has a major growth catalyst coming in 2027 with increased custom artificial-intelligence (AI) chip shipments that will cause its revenue to skyrocket next year. Flipping to TSMC and Nvidia, the former has nearly four times the revenue that SpaceX does in profits. Yet TSMC has only a 33% higher valuation. Something is off in that comparison, and it's not TSMC.
Finishing with Nvidia, it's already more than three times larger than SpaceX, but it generates well over 10 times as much revenue. This shows that SpaceX is a bit out of its league in the $1 trillion club, and these three are much better picks.
This trio has an ongoing major growth catalyst
All three of these stocks are heavily involved in the AI building boom. Nvidia makes the most popular computing chips with its graphics processing units (GPUs), and Broadcom is challenging it with custom AI chips. TSMC is a chip manufacturer that fabricates designs from companies like Nvidia and Broadcom, along with many others. As long as the AI boom is full steam ahead, these three will remain great investment options.
Wall Street analysts expect rapid growth from all three of these companies next year. With profit margins likely staying elevated, they will generate far more profits than SpaceX generates revenue. That's a huge distinction, and I think investors should be more focused on investing in companies that have proven profit streams rather than ones that could have profits years down the road.
Nvidia, TSMC, and Broadcom have a generational growth opportunity and are capitalizing on it. SpaceX hasn't quite reached its full-blown space economy aspirations, and there will be plenty of time to invest in it later. The time is now to invest in this trio.

3 Stocks I'm Buying Over SpaceX Right Now

STMicroelectronics N.V. STM is rapidly emerging as an important semiconductor supplier to the AI data center ecosystem. After delivering stronger-than-expected second-quarter 2026 results, management raised its outlook for the business, projecting AI data center revenues to exceed $1 billion in 2026 and climb well above $2 billion in 2027. The upgrade reflects accelerating customer demand, expanding design wins and growing confidence in STM's manufacturing capabilities.
The company's momentum is being fueled by the explosive adoption of AI infrastructure, particularly high-speed optical connectivity. STM is benefiting from rising demand for 800G and 1.6-terabit optical transceivers, where it supplies microcontrollers, electronic ICs and silicon photonics solutions. Management also highlighted growing opportunities in power management products for AI servers, with an expanding pipeline of design wins in both high-voltage and low-voltage power devices. The company expects optical connectivity to remain the primary growth engine while power products become an increasingly meaningful contributor.
Importantly, STM believes it has the manufacturing capacity to support this expansion. The company said the advanced 300-millimeter production lines and silicon photonics platform provide enough scalability to meet customer commitments, while backlog visibility and customer engagements already cover its expectations for next year. AI-related products are also expected to improve product mix and support higher gross margins over time.
Execution, however, remains critical. Ongoing factory restructuring, technology migration and temporary manufacturing costs could weigh on profitability in the near term. Even so, with strong customer demand, expanding AI design wins and differentiated technologies in optical interconnect and power management, STM appears well positioned to transform AI data centers into a multibillion-dollar business by 2027 if it successfully delivers on the production roadmap.
AI Data Center Race: How STM Stacks Up Against Broadcom and Marvell
STMicroelectronics is rapidly expanding its AI data center presence. It competes with established players like Broadcom AVGO and Marvell Technology MRVL. Broadcom remains the industry leader in AI networking and custom AI chips, benefiting from its dominant position in Ethernet switching, optical networking and custom silicon for hyperscale cloud providers. Its broad product portfolio and deep relationships with major AI infrastructure customers give Broadcom a significant competitive advantage as AI data center spending accelerates.
Marvell is another formidable rival, with a strong focus on high-speed optical interconnect, custom AI accelerators and data center connectivity. The company has secured multiple hyperscale customers and continues to benefit from rising adoption of 800G and 1.6T optical networking solutions.
However, STM is carving out a differentiated position through its expertise in silicon photonics, microcontrollers and power management solutions rather than competing directly in AI GPUs or networking chips. If management executes on its expanding design-win pipeline and manufacturing roadmap, STM could emerge as an important supplier to the AI infrastructure market while complementing, rather than directly replacing, the offerings of larger AI semiconductor players.

Can STM Turn AI Data Centers Into a $2 Billion Business by 2027?

Broadcom's quarterly dividend has grown from a split-adjusted nickel in 2016 to $0.65 today.
The company has raised its payout for 15 consecutive years.

At first glance, Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) hardly looks like a dividend stock. The chip and infrastructure software giant pays $2.60 per share in annual dividends, and with the stock closing Friday at $381.92, that works out to a dividend yield of just 0.68%. Put $10,000 into the stock today, and you collect about $68 a year. Not too exciting.
But a current yield is just a snapshot, and snapshots don't show motion. What the 0.68% hides is a dividend that has been raised for 15 consecutive years and has multiplied nearly 13-fold over the past decade.

While this dividend's astounding growth isn't guaranteed to persist, it speaks to the quality of the underlying business.
From a nickel to $0.65
Ten years ago, Broadcom's quarterly dividend was $0.51 per share. Adjusted for the company's 10-for-1 stock split in 2024, that's about a nickel. Today, the quarterly payout is $0.65. That's nearly 13 times the split-adjusted level of mid-2016, which works out to an annualized growth rate of about 29%.
To be fair, that decade includes one exceptional leap. In December 2016, Broadcom's board doubled the payout in a single stroke.
The pace has settled down since. Over the past five years, the quarterly dividend has climbed from a split-adjusted $0.36 to $0.65, about 12.5% annualized. The latest increase, announced in December alongside the company's fiscal fourth-quarter results, was 10%.
Growth in the 10% to 12% range may sound ordinary next to that 29% figure. But it adds up. A dividend compounding at 12% doubles about every six years -- and Broadcom has sustained double-digit increases while pouring money into acquisitions and its artificial intelligence (AI) chip business.
The cash behind the raises
A dividend is only as good as the cash flow covering it, so the first thing I check is how easily the company pays its bill.
In its fiscal second quarter of 2026 (ended May 3, 2026), Broadcom generated $10.3 billion of free cash flow, an enormous 46% of its $22.2 billion in revenue. Dividend payments during the quarter came to $3.1 billion -- about 30% of that free cash flow, leaving plenty behind. Indeed, Broadcom put another $600 million into share repurchases during the period.
Measured against earnings, the annual dividend runs at about 43% of the past year's earnings per share.
Part of what makes that coverage so comfortable is Broadcom's business model. Unlike the cloud giants spending tens of billions of dollars on data centers each quarter, Broadcom designs chips and sells infrastructure software. Its capital expenditures in the quarter were just $231 million against $10.5 billion of operating cash flow.
And the growth engine funding future raises is accelerating. Broadcom's fiscal second-quarter revenue rose 48% year over year, powered by AI semiconductor revenue of $10.8 billion, up 143%.
"The momentum continues and in Q3 we expect semiconductor revenue from AI to grow over 200 percent year-over-year to $16.0 billion," said CEO Hock Tan in the fiscal second-quarter earnings release.
Of course, there are caveats. Dividend growth could slow if AI spending cycles turn or if management prioritizes acquisitions.
And the stock itself is priced for its AI growth, not its dividend. Shares trade at about 64 times earnings, a price that assumes the extraordinary AI momentum continues. Anyone buying today is paying growth-stock prices and receiving the dividend as a small bonus.
So no, Broadcom won't solve anyone's income needs this year. But this is what the early years of a big income stream tend to look like. The yield is small, the share of cash flow committed is low, and the board keeps raising the payout while the business underneath compounds.
Given a long enough time, Broadcom could transform into a powerful dividend stock.

Why has the market turned bearish on Broadcom?
Broadcom has been a top growth stock for years, and in five years, it's up around 700%. This year, its gains are around 10%, which appears modest given not only its impressive growth but also its strong potential due to artificial intelligence (AI).
In the company's most recent quarter, which ended May 3, its semiconductor revenue from AI surged 143% to $10.8 billion. And for the current quarter, growth is expected to be even more robust, with CEO Hock Tan expecting the company's AI-related semiconductor revenue to rise by 200% to $16 billion.
While Broadcom's overall growth rate of 48% for the entire business was strong, the problem may simply stem from the impressive gains the stock has generated over the years. At $1.8 trillion, Broadcom is among the most valuable companies in the world, and high expectations are priced into its valuation. Its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 64 is fairly high, and that may be a big reason why investors are a bit cautious with the stock these days.
Broadcom could be a cheap buy for long-term investors
Now that Broadcom is trading lower, there may be a more compelling case for buying it. It's been a trusted partner of many hyperscalers, and as long as spending on AI isn't slowing down, Broadcom's growth may remain high, and its stock may have more room to rise higher.
While its P/E ratio may seem excessive, the stock is trading at a forward P/E (based on analyst estimates of future earnings) of just 20. That's lower than the S&P 500 average of 21. For a top growth stock that's been outperforming the market for years, Broadcom may be a bit of a cheap buy when looking at the long run.
There is some risk with Broadcom because its business depends heavily on hyperscalers, but given the long-term opportunities in AI and companies seeking more reasonably priced chips, Broadcom may be well positioned to benefit. While there may be short-term volatility, Broadcom could be a good long-term investment for investors to consider today.
