ASML Holding N.V. develops, produces, markets, sells, and services advanced semiconductor equipment systems for chipmakers. It offers advanced semiconductor equipment systems, including lithography, metrology, and inspection systems. The company also provides extreme ultraviolet lithography systems; and deep ultraviolet lithography systems comprising immersion and dry lithography solutions to manufacture various range of semiconductor nodes and technologies. In addition, it offers metrology and inspection systems, including YieldStar optical metrology systems to assess the quality of patterns on the wafers; and HMI electron beam solutions to locate and analyze individual chip defects. Further, the company provides computational lithography solutions, and lithography systems and control software solutions; and refurbishes and upgrades lithography systems, as well as offers customer support and related services. It operates in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, China, rest of Asia, the Netherlands, rest of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the United States. The company was formerly known as ASM Lithography Holding N.V. and changed its name to ASML Holding N.V. in 2001. ASML Holding N.V. was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands.

Goldman Sachs recently predicted that artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure spending could climb to between $920 billion and $1.4 trillion next year, up from the more than $700 billion expected to be spent this year. Those are some huge numbers, and there undoubtedly will be some nice winners in the space.

1. Alphabet
Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) is set to be both one of the big spenders and winners when it comes to AI infrastructure spending. The company plans to spend between $180 billion and $190 billion this year, with a significant increase in 2027. However, if there is any company that should be pushing up its capex spending, it's Alphabet.
The reason is that the company currently has a significant cost advantage with its tensor processing units (TPUs). By being less reliant on Nvidia's graphics processing units (GPUs) than its competitors, it is getting more bang for its buck with its AI infrastructure spending. This lets it train its Gemini model at significantly lower cost than peers and also save huge costs on inference. In many cases, this can also help provide it with a better return with Google Cloud, which is growing rapidly.
Alphabet's TPUs have become so well regarded that it is now allowing select customers, such as Anthropic, to place orders directly with co-developer partner Broadcom. This adds another high-margin revenue stream for Alphabet. Between this and its TPU cost advantage, this is a stock set to win from surging data center capex.
2. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing
AI chip spending is now not only going up, but it is also widening. That's great news for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM). Whether the spending is going to GPUs, custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) like Alphabet's TPUs, or high-performance central processing units (CPUs), this all benefits TSMC, which has a virtual monopoly in the manufacturing of advanced logic chips.
While chip designers will inevitably look to second source their manufacturing base if possible, right now they are beholden to TSMC, as it is the only foundry that has both the scale and expertise to produce advanced logic chips in mass quantities with high yields (few defects). This has made the company an integral partner with leading chip designers, who must turn to TSMC not only for help securing capacity but also for planning their entire chip roadmaps. As more chip companies fight to secure fab capacity, this benefits TSMC, which has already shown it has strong pricing power. Recent reports indicate the company will raise prices on its newer 3nm chips by 15% later this year.
This all makes TSMC one of the best stocks to own as spending on AI infrastructure continues to ramp.
3. ASML
While TSMC manufactures advanced logic chips, ASML (NASDAQ: ASML) provides the machines that make this possible. In fact, without its technology, there would be no AI infrastructure boom, as it is the only company in the world with extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography technology.
EUV machines are what make GPUs and other advanced chips possible, making ASML one of the most important companies, even though it is not a household name.
In addition to being needed in the manufacturing of advanced logic chips, these machines are also used to make high bandwidth memory (HBM), while its older DUV machines can also be used in the memory-making process. Its EUV machines cost upwards of $200 million, so these are pricey pieces of equipment, and the company is seeing robust demand from both foundries like TSMC and the big memory makers.
As AI capex continues to climb, ASML is a great under-the-radar stock to own.

ASML: A Strong Contender in the Semiconductor Industry

Investors in ASML Holding NV (Symbol: ASML) saw new options begin trading today, for the December 2028 expiration. One of the key inputs that goes into the price an option buyer is willing to pay, is the time value, so with 917 days until expiration the newly trading contracts represent a potential opportunity for sellers of puts or calls to achieve a higher premium than would be available for the contracts with a closer expiration. At Stock Options Channel, our YieldBoost formula has looked up and down the ASML options chain for the new December 2028 contracts and identified one put and one call contract of particular interest.
The put contract at the $1360.00 strike price has a current bid of $282.00. If an investor was to sell-to-open that put contract, they are committing to purchase the stock at $1360.00, but will also collect the premium, putting the cost basis of the shares at $1078.00 (before broker commissions). To an investor already interested in purchasing shares of ASML, that could represent an attractive alternative to paying $1871.70/share today.
Because the $1360.00 strike represents an approximate 27% discount to the current trading price of the stock (in other words it is out-of-the-money by that percentage), there is also the possibility that the put contract would expire worthless. The current analytical data (including greeks and implied greeks) suggest the current odds of that happening are 82%. The current analytical data (including greeks and implied greeks) suggest the current odds of that happening are 39%. December 2028 Options Now Available For ASML Holding

The S&P 500 Index ($SPX) (SPY) on Thursday closed up +1.75%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI) (DIA) closed up +1.86%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index ($IUXX) (QQQ) closed up +3.29%. June E-mini S&P futures (ESM26) rose +1.73%, and June E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQM26) rose +3.26%.
Stock indexes settled sharply higher on Thursday, after geopolitical risks eased when President Trump canceled planned strikes on Iran and signaled that a peace deal to end the war was imminent. Chipmakers and other AI-related stocks rallied on Thursday, leading the broader market higher. Also, Thursday’s -2% plunge in WTI crude oil sparked a rally in airline stocks and cruise line operators. However, software stocks retreated on Thursday, led by an -8% slump in Oracle after it reported higher-than-expected capital expenses, driven by increased data spending.

Stocks raced to their highs Thursday afternoon when President Trump said he canceled planned military strikes against Iran, citing "discussions" with Iranian leadership. He added that a "time and place of the signing" of a negotiated end to the war would "be announced shortly," and the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz "will remain in full force and effect until this transaction is finalized."
Stocks were initially weighed down on Thursday amid concerns about the escalation of Middle East hostilities after President Trump said the US will be hitting Iran very hard tonight and will "at some point" take control of Kharg Island, Iran's key export hub, thus taking control of Iran's oil and gas markets.
Stocks were also pressured by Thursday’s US economic reports, which showed that weekly US jobless claims unexpectedly rose to a 4-month high and that May producer prices were mixed.
Late Wednesday, President Trump said the US will continue bombing Iran if it refuses to agree to an interim peace deal. Mr. Trump ordered multiple strikes on Iranian targets on Wednesday, and Iran retaliated by firing on US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. The increase in tensions risks derailing peace talks between Iran and the US, thus keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed, and further tightening global energy supplies.
US weekly initial unemployment claims unexpectedly rose +4,000 to a 4-month high of 229,000, showing a weaker labor market than expectations of a decline to 220,000.
US May PPI final demand rose +1.1% m/m and +6.5% y/y, stronger than expectations of +0.7% m/m and +6.4% y/y, with the +6.5% y/y gain being the largest year-on-year increase in 3.5 years. However, May PI ex food and energy rose +0.4% m/m and +4.9% y/y, weaker than expectations of +0.5% m/m and +5.4% y/y.
WTI crude oil prices (CLN26) are extremely volatile, whipsawing higher and lower several times on Thursday. Crude prices today initially gave up an overnight advance of more than +2% and fell more than -2% after President Trump said he canceled planned strikes on Iran and that a peace deal to end the war was imminent. Crude prices initially rallied more than +2% on Thursday when President Trump said the US would keep attacking Iran and threatened to seize the Kharg Island oil terminal, Iran’s main crude exporting hub.
The markets are discounting a 0% chance of a +25 bp rate hike at the next FOMC meeting on June 16-17.
Overseas stock markets settled mixed on Thursday. The Euro Stoxx 50 closed up +0.78%. China's Shanghai Composite closed down -0.16%. Japan's Nikkei Stock Average recovered from a 2.5-week low and closed up +0.06%.
Interest Rates
September 10-year T-notes (ZNU6) on Thursday closed up +17 ticks, and the 10-year T-note yield fell -9.3 bp to 4.459%. T-notes rallied on Thursday after US weekly jobless claims unexpectedly rose to a 4-month high and May producer prices ex-food and energy rose less than expected, dovish factors for Fed policy. T-notes also garnered support on Thursday from the -2% fall in WTI crude oil prices, which lowered inflation expectations. The 10-year breakeven inflation rate fell to a 2.5-month low of 2.303% on Thursday.
Gains in T-notes were limited after stocks rallied sharply, which curbed safe-haven demand for government debt securities. Also, slack demand for the Treasury’s $22 billion auction of 30-year T-bonds was negative for T-notes, as the auction had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.33, below the 10-auction average of 2.39.
European government bond yields moved lower on Thursday. The 10-year German Bund yield fell from a 2.5-week high of 3.091% and finished down -4.5 bp to 3.032%. The 10-year UK gilt yield fell -2.6 bp to 4.905%.
The ECB, as expected, raised the deposit facility rate by +25 bp to 2.25% from 2.00% and said, "The outlook remains uncertain, with upside risks for inflation and downside risks for economic growth."
The ECB cut its 2026 Eurozone GDP estimate to +0.8% from a previous estimate of +0.9% and raised its 2026 Eurozone inflation ex-food and energy forecast to +2.5% from a previous forecast of +2.3%.
Swaps are discounting a 62% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on July 23.
US Stock Movers
Chipmakers and AI-infrastructure stocks rallied sharply on Thursday amid signs that AI spending is continuing after Oracle reported quarterly capital expenditures that were higher than expected, driven by increased data center spending. Sandisk (SNDK) closed up more than +14% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, and KLA Corp (KLAC) closed up more than +13%. Also, Lam Research (LRCX) closed up more than +12%, and Applied Materials (AMAT), ARM Holdings Plc (ARM), Marvell Technology (MRVL), and Micron Technology (MU) closed up more than +11%. In addition, Intel (INTC) and ASML Holding NV (ASML) closed up more than +9%, and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Western Digital (WDC) closed up more than +7%. Finally, Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX), NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI), and Qualcomm (QCOM) closed up more than +6%, and Microchip Technology (MCHP) and Texas Instruments (TXN) closed up more than +5%.
Airline stocks and cruise line operators moved sharply higher on Thursday after WTI crude oil fell more than -2%, lowering fuel costs and boosting the companies’ profitability prospects. Alaska Air Group (ALK) closed up more than +11%, and United Airlines Holdings (UAL) and American Airlines Group (AAL) closed up more than +9%. Also, Carnival (CCL) closed up more than +8%, and Southwest Airlines (LUV) and Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) closed up more than +7%. In addition, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) and Delta Air Lines (DAL) closed up more than +6%.
Cryptocurrency-exposed stocks moved higher on Thursday as Bitcoin (^BTCUSD) rose more than +3%. Galaxy Digital Holdings (GLXY) closed up more than +10%, and Riot Platforms (RIOT) closed up more than +8%. Also, MARA Holdings (MARA) closed up more than +7%, Coinbase Global (COIN) closed up more than +4%, and Strategy (MSTR) closed up more than +3%.
Software stocks are under pressure today, limiting gains in the overall market, with Oracle (ORCL) down more than -8% to lead losers in the S&P 500 after forecasting full-year capital spending of $70 billion, $20-25 billion higher than expected due to prepayment for some components. Also, Autodesk (ADSK) closed down more than -7% to lead losers in the Nasdaq 100, and Adobe Systems (ADBE) closed down more than -6%. In addition, Workday (WDAY) closed down more than -5%, and Salesforce (CRM) closed down more than -2% to lead losers in the Dow Jones Industrials. Finally, ServiceNow (NOW), Atlassian Corp (TEAM), and Intuit (INTU) closed down more than -2%, and Microsoft (MSFT) closed down more than -1%.
Energy stocks and service providers slumped on Thursday after WTI crude oil fell more than -2%. Devon Energy (DVN) closed down more than -4%, and ConocoPhillips (COP) and APA Corp (APA) closed down more than -3%. Also, Chevron (CVX), Diamondback Energy (FANG), Exxon Mobil (XOM), and Occidental Petroleum (OXY) closed down more than -2%.
Voyager Technologies (VOYG) closed up more than +16% after BTIG initiated coverage on the stock with a buy recommendation and a price target of $55.
Navan (NAVN) closed up more than +9% after raising its full-year revenue forecast to $907 million-$913 million from a previous estimate of $866 million-$874 million, well above the consensus of $871.7 million.
Eaton Corp Plc (ETN) closed up more than +5% after agreeing to merge its mobility business with Dana Inc in a deal valuing the combined company at roughly $10 billion, including debt.
Allegion Plc (ALLE) closed up more than +3% after Longbow Research upgraded the stock to buy from neutral with a price target of $165.

Stocks Settle Sharply Higher on Middle East Peace Hopes

SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX), the aerospace and AI company founded by Elon Musk, will go public on June 12. At its target valuation of $1.77 trillion, it will be the biggest IPO in history.
However, it will also be valued at 95 times its 2025 sales. It's also reportedly more than four times oversubscribed, which suggests it could start trading at well over 100 times sales. That's a frothy valuation for an unprofitable company that grew its revenue by 33% last year.

So instead of chasing SpaceX, which looks more like a meme stock with some glaring flaws, it's smarter to invest in some established growth stocks with clearer long-term catalysts. These two stocks fit that description: Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO) and ASML (NASDAQ: ASML).
Broadcom
Over the past decade, Broadcom has expanded through acquisitions of other chipmakers and infrastructure software companies. The bold strategy transformed it into a more diversified tech company than its peers in the semiconductor and software industries.
Broadcom once mainly produced networking, wireless, mobile, and infrastructure chips. But over the past few years, most of its growth has been driven by sales of custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) for the artificial intelligence (AI) market.
Unlike Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), which produces general-purpose data center GPUs for AI tasks, Broadcom's AI accelerators are customized for hyperscalers. At scale, these custom chips can handle AI tasks more cost-efficiently than Nvidia's stand-alone GPUs. Broadcom also locked in its customers by bundling its AI chips with its non-AI chips and infrastructure software.
In fiscal 2025 (which ended last November), Broadcom's AI chip sales surged 65% to $20 billion, accounting for 31% of its top line. It expects its AI chip sales to soar fivefold to over $100 billion in fiscal 2027 (at least 58% of its projected $171.5 billion in revenue).
From fiscal 2025 to fiscal 2028, analysts expect Broadcom's revenue and EPS to grow at CAGRs of 53% and 66%, respectively, as the AI market expands. Yet its stock still looks surprisingly affordable at 23 times next year's earnings. So if you're looking for a simple way to profit from the ongoing AI boom, Broadcom checks all the right boxes.
ASML
Broadcom, Nvidia, and the world's other top chipmakers couldn't produce their most advanced chips without the Dutch semiconductor equipment giant ASML. ASML is the world's largest producer of lithography systems, which are used to optically etch circuit patterns onto silicon wafers. It's also the only producer of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography systems, which are required to manufacture the world's smallest, densest, and most power-efficient chips.
ASML perfected its EUV technology over the past three decades, and its massive machines cost up to $400 million and require multiple planes to ship. All of the most advanced chip foundries -- including TSMC, Samsung, and Intel -- use those systems to manufacture chips for fabless chipmakers like Broadcom and Nvidia.

The soaring demand for new AI and memory chips will drive its near-term growth, while its newest high-NA EUV systems (which will enable its foundry customers to manufacture even smaller chips) will drive its longer-term growth. It might not seem like a bargain at 36 times next year's earnings, but its strengths justify that higher valuation.

What Oracle is up to in AI
Specifically, Oracle said it must raise another $20 billion through debt issuances and share sales. This is on top of $20 billion in share sales already announced... and $48 billion raised last year.
From Oracle's perspective, these cash raises are necessary to offset the $23.7 billion in cash the company is burning annually as it builds out data centers to support its hundreds of billions of dollars' worth of long-term contracts to supply artificial intelligence support to its AI clients -- a major worry for investors in Oracle stock.
What this means for ASML stock
From ASML's perspective, though, Oracle's bad news could be quite good. If Oracle is raising tens of billions of dollars, this logically means Oracle is also planning to spend tens of billions of dollars on AI chips for its data centers. As this money flows to Oracle's chip suppliers, it's furthermore logical to assume these chipmakers will turn around and spend much of this money on AI chip manufacturing equipment from ASML.
Long story short, the more Oracle spends, the more revenue and profit ASML can expect to collect -- and Oracle just told us it intends to spend quite a lot of money. This bodes well for ASML's chances of hitting analyst targets for 23% earnings growth over the next five years -- and that's a good reason for ASML stock going up today.

Stock indexes are moving higher today, as chipmakers and other AI-related stocks climb to lift the broader market and recover some of Wednesday’s sharp losses. However, software stocks are on the defensive today, led by an -11% slump in Oracle after it reported higher-than-expected capital expenses, driven by increased data spending.

Stocks are being undercut as crude oil prices erased early losses and whipsawed higher on concerns about the escalation of Middle East hostilities after President Trump said the US will be hitting Iran very hard tonight and will "at some point" take control of Kharg Island, Iran's key export hub, thus taking control of Iran's oil and gas markets.
Stocks are also pressured by today’s US economic reports, which showed that weekly US jobless claims unexpectedly rose to a 4-month high and that May producer prices were mixed.
Late Wednesday, President Trump said the US will continue bombing Iran if it refuses to agree to an interim peace deal. Mr. Trump ordered multiple strikes on Iranian targets on Wednesday, and Iran retaliated by firing on US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. The increase in tensions risks derailing peace talks between Iran and the US, thus keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed, and further tightening global energy supplies.
US weekly initial unemployment claims unexpectedly rose +4,000 to a 4-month high of 229,000, showing a weaker labor market than expectations of a decline to 220,000.
US May PPI final demand rose +1.1% m/m and +6.5% y/y, stronger than expectations of +0.7% m/m and +6.4% y/y, with the +6.5% y/y gain being the largest year-on-year increase in 3.5 years. However, May PI ex food and energy rose +0.4% m/m and +4.9% y/y, weaker than expectations of +0.5% m/m and +5.4% y/y.
WTI crude oil prices (CLN26) are extremely volatile, whipsawing higher and lower several times today. Crude prices today initially gave up an overnight advance of more than +2% and fell more than -1% as concerns over the escalation of the US-Iran conflict eased after the US ended strikes against Iran. However, prices then rallied more than +1% again when President Trump said the US would keep attacking Iran and threatened to seize the Kharg Island oil terminal, Iran’s main crude exporting hub.
The markets are discounting a 3% chance of a +25 bp rate hike at the next FOMC meeting on June 16-17.
Overseas stock markets are mixed today. The Euro Stoxx 50 is up +0.89%. China's Shanghai Composite closed down -0.16%. Japan's Nikkei Stock Average recovered from a 2.5-week low and closed up +0.06%.
Interest Rates
September 10-year T-notes (ZNU6) today are up +4 ticks, and the 10-year T-note yield is down -3.0 bp to 4.523%. T-notes are moving higher today after US weekly jobless claims unexpectedly rose to a 4-month high and May producer prices ex-food and energy rose less than expected, dovish factors for Fed policy.
Gains in T-notes are limited after crude oil prices whipsawed higher after President Trump said the US will keep on attacking Iran and threatened to seize Kharg Island, Iran’s main crude exporting hub. Also, supply pressures are negative for T-notes, as the Treasury will auction $22 billion of 30-year T-bonds later today.
European government bond yields are moving lower today. The 10-year German Bund yield fell from a 2.5-week high of 3.091% and is down -4.1 bp to 3.035%. The 10-year UK gilt yield is down -2.6 bp to 4.905%.
The ECB, as expected, raised the deposit facility rate by +25 bp to 2.25% from 2.00% and said, "The outlook remains uncertain, with upside risks for inflation and downside risks for economic growth."
The ECB cut its 2026 Eurozone GDP estimate to +0.8% from a previous estimate of +0.9%, and raised its 2026 Eurozone inflation ex-food and energy forecast to +2.5% from a previous forecast of +2.3%.
Swaps are discounting a 64% chance of a +25 bp ECB rate hike at its next policy meeting on July 23.
US Stock Movers
Chipmakers and AI-infrastructure stocks are moving higher today on signs that AI spending is continuing after Oracle reported quarterly capital expenditures that were higher than expected, driven by increased data center spending. KLA Corp (KLAC) is up more than +8% to lead gainers in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, and Applied Materials (AMAT), Intel (INTC), Lam Research (LRCX), and Sandisk (SNDK) are up more than +6%. Also, ARM Holdings Plc (ARM) is up more than +5%, and ASML Holding NV (ASML) is up more than +4%. In addition, Marvell Technology (MRVL), Seagate Technology Holdings Plc (STX), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Analog Devices (ADI) are up more than +3%, and Microchip Technology (MCHP), NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI), Micron Technology (MU), Texas Instruments (TXN), and Western Digital (WDC) are up more than +2%.

Navan (NAVN) is up more than +12% after raising its full-year revenue forecast to $907 million-$913 million from a previous estimate of $866 million-$874 million, well above the consensus of $871.7 million.
Voyager Technologies (VOYG) is up more than +11% after BTIG initiated coverage on the stock with a buy recommendation and a price target of $55.
Allegion Plc (ALLE) is up more than +1% after Longbow Research upgraded the stock to buy from neutral with a price target of $165.
Eaton Corp Plc (ETN) is up more than +1% after agreeing to merge its mobility business with Dana Inc in a deal valuing the combined company at roughly $10 billion, including debt.

Both of these international ETFs offer strong dividend yields, but the iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF has delivered a higher yield (3.3%). Both ETFs are priced more cheaply than the S&P 500 according to their price-to-earnings (P/E) ratios -- the S&P 500 has a P/E ratio of 31.83. Based on that valuation metric, international stocks might have more room to run.

The top four holdings in the iShares Core MSCI Total International Stock ETF are all semiconductor stocks. They have performed well during the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, but what if the AI boom turns into a bust? The iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF top five holdings include one semiconductor stock (ASML Holding), but the other top holdings are financial (HSBC, a major international bank) and pharmaceutical giants.
Both funds are well-diversified, but one fund has a little more exposure to AI stocks. If you want to diversify your portfolio away from the U.S. tech boom (in case of a future tech downturn), the iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF could be a better choice.
Why buy IXUS instead of IEFA?
Both of these iShares funds can be good choices for investors who are internationally minded and want to diversify beyond the U.S. market. They're both low-cost index funds. The iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF ranks among the best international ETFs.
But I believe that diversification is valuable in the long run. If you look at the past 10 years of performance, the more diversified fund, the iShares Core MSCI Total International Stock ETF, has slightly outperformed:
This fund owns more than 4,300 stocks across a wide range of countries, including emerging markets such as South Korea and Taiwan. That might make it more volatile in the short run. But as a long-term investor, I'd rather have exposure to the growth potential of the world's up-and-coming economies.
