It has been nearly three years since ChatGPT was launched, and the artificial intelligence (AI) craze is still driving the bull market that it helped kick off. Stocks look poised to deliver another winning year in 2025 despite earlier concerns that tariffs and other macroeconomic headwinds might trigger a slowdown or even a recession.
Yet even at this point in the trend, some AI stocks remain largely overlooked by investors. Here are two that could deliver market-beating results from here.

1. Sweetgreen
Sweetgreen (NYSE: SG) is a fast-casual salad chain, but the company is more than your typical restaurant chain. In fact, it's betting its future on a robotic assistant it calls the Infinite Kitchen. This technology helps prep, measure, and dispense ingredients for its salad bowls to make service more efficient, increase throughput, and reduce labor costs.
The company is adding Infinite Kitchens to more of its existing restaurants through retrofits, and it expects that 20 of the at least 40 restaurants it plans to open this year will use them.
Despite the promise of this technology, Sweetgreen's recent results have been underwhelming, and its stock has fallen sharply over the last year. In addition to the higher upfront spending required to build and deploy Infinite Kitchens, the company has been struggling with a broad pullback in discretionary spending among consumers and complaints about its high prices. The Southern California wildfires earlier this year also took a toll on its business. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, and the metro area is one of its biggest markets.
However, it shouldn't take much for this stock to mount a comeback, especially as its market cap has fallen to just $1 billion. Year-over-year financial comparisons should get easier in the second half of 2025, and the general and administrative expenses related to the Infinite Kitchens will deleverage as the business expands.
Sweetgreen aims to roughly quadruple its store count to at least 1,000 restaurants over the coming years. While the company is still losing money and its comparable-store sales have fallen in recent quarters, its restaurants remain popular, with an average unit volume of close to $3 million.
For its business to heat up, Sweetgreen will need some help from an improved macroeconomic climate and rebounding consumer demand, but the stock has a lot of upside potential, especially if its Infinite Kitchens deliver strong results.
2. Amplitude
Software companies have trailed behind chipmakers in capitalizing on the tailwinds of the AI boom, but one small-cap software stock that could soar due to AI-related demand is Amplitude (NASDAQ: AMPL).
The cloud software company focuses on product analytics. It helps businesses learn how customers use their digital products, like websites and apps, so they can make improvements based on what works for users and what doesn't.
Amplitude's analytics platform, which includes a suite of features, just got supercharged by the company's launch of new AI agents that can analyze data for customers and draw conclusions, helping to ensure that they can get the most value from it.
Though it is still small, Amplitude is emerging as the leader in product analytics by outcompeting the point solutions that its customers used to rely on. It's better suited for measuring product data than popular marketing technology solutions like Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics.
With a market cap of just around $1.5 billion, Amplitude has a lot of room to run if it builds momentum around its new AI platform.
Amplitude's growth is also accelerating now that it has moved past headwinds related to post-pandemic churn; some of its customers overinvested in its products during the pandemic.

At the time, the cloud software company, which is focused on product analytics, was growing rapidly and tech stocks were still booming from the pandemic-driven tailwinds. However, Amplitude tumbled in the tech crash in 2022. The stock plunged and growth has slowed as many of its customers realized that they overestimated their need for its services, much like they did with most other software products, as the tech industry lost some of its primacy in the economic reopening following the pandemic lockdowns.

The company was forced to lay off employees and retrench, and after some acquisitions and with the headwinds from the customer spend rationalization finally rolling off, Amplitude looks as strong as it's been in a long time.
In fact, the stock has surged of late, up 56% over the last year as investors have responded to the company's momentum in its product lineup. However, there's one thing investors should be watching now.
What can Amplitude do with AI?
Amplitude, which still trades in a small-cap range at a market cap of less than $2 billion, is arguably as well-positioned as any company of its size to capitalize on AI technology.
The company helps businesses discover and understand how customers use their digital products, like websites, apps, and other devices so they can learn what's working and make improvements.
In the digital era, that's a valuable tool, and it could be greatly enhanced with artificial intelligence, which has the power to automate insights that now require a human to glean through data analysis.
The company introduced its new Amplitude AI agents in June, which will do things like pull dashboards, run queries, test hypotheses, and determine which leads are the most promising.
Among the specific AI agent templates are website conversion agents, onboarding agents, feature adoption agents, and monetization agents, which help improve the nuts-and-bolts points of engagement that most businesses are trying to accomplish online.
Amplitude followed that up in July with its acquisition of Kraftful, an AI-native Voice of the Customer (VoC) start-up. Amplitude will capitalize on Kraftful's proprietary large language model (LLM), which can process massive amounts of user feedback data. The acquisition will help Amplitude further lock the capabilities in the data its software is uncovering, making its product suite even more valuable for customers.
What's next for Amplitude
In its first quarter, Amplitude reported 12% annual recurring revenue growth and 10% overall revenue growth, an improvement from recent years.
The company has seen a jump in remaining performance obligations as well, which rose 30% to $325.9 million, showing that its customers are committing to longer contracts. That's a good sign that growth momentum is returning after years of elevated churn coming off the pandemic.
Amplitude has a large base of more than 4,000 customers, ranging across industries from tech to consumer to industrials, and that includes 27% of the Fortune 100, showing it's landing large companies as well.
Seeing a bump from the new AI agents could take time, but the new products will almost certainly help accelerate Amplitude's growth over the long term.
The company was recently rated No. 1 in product analytics by G2, a research firm, and it has gained market share from larger competitors like Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics, which are more focused on marketing analytics rather than product analytics.
As a leader in an emerging niche in software at a market cap of just $1.5 billion, Amplitude has a lot of upside potential. If its new AI agents gain traction, the stock could soar.

This consistently increasing FCF generation enabled the business to pay out increasing dividends over the years, which serves as a passive income bonus for growth investors. MarketAxess' latest quarterly dividend stood at $0.76 and has been increasing without fail since 2009.
MarketAxess enables its clients to access a wide range of fixed income instruments ranging from municipal bonds to emerging market and Eurobonds, thus making its platform an attractive one that creates "stickiness."
Last year not only resulted in the strongest annual revenue growth since 2020, but also saw the company register record total average daily volume (ADV), along with record commission and services revenue. The number of total active clients has also risen from 1,877 at the end of 2021 to 2,115 by 2024, and the number of international active client firms has jumped from 956 to 1,095 over this period.
Management provided healthy guidance for mid-single-digit year-over-year (YOY) percentage growth in services revenue for 2025. This growth will be driven by plans to expand block trading solutions to include U.S. credit while enhancing bilateral trading services. MarketAxess will also work with dealers to increase volumes across its platform while rolling out enhancements for better pricing.
The recent tariff announcements by President Donald Trump resulted in a sharp dislocation in the bond market, which benefited the company. MarketAxess reported a record trading week in U.S. government bonds traded through its platform, and management is confident that more clients will adopt its algorithms during periods of sharp volatility.
Management identified a very large addressable market ADV across a suite of fixed income products in 2022. This market represents a solid opportunity for the company to continue growing its ADV, revenue, and profits over time.
Amplitude
Amplitude (NASDAQ: AMPL) operates a digital analytics platform that helps its clients gather customer insights that can enable them to better understand customer behaviors and take appropriate action. The company has seen its revenue and gross profit increase steadily, as shown in the table below. Gross margin has also improved from 70.4% to 74.3% over the same period.

The good news is that Amplitude became FCF positive in 2023 and has continued to generate free cash flow in 2024, too. The total number of paying customers for the final quarter of 2024 surged by 42% YOY to 3,875. Customers are also paying more, with the number of customers with annual recurring revenue of more than $100,000 increasing by 16% YOY to 591. Remaining performance obligations shot up 29% YOY to $308.6 million, representing healthy future revenue growth.
Amplitude is looking at revenue of between $324.8 million to $330.8 million for 2025, which translates to a YOY growth of 9.5% at the midpoint of this guidance. Amplitude's recent Investor Day in March highlights the large total addressable market of more than $50 billion. Digital applications are growing exponentially worldwide, with close to 9 million apps circulating and more than 1.1 billion websites as of this writing.
This burgeoning growth throws up enticing opportunities for Amplitude to increase customers' usage. Demand for its services looks set to grow in tandem with this digitalization trend. Artificial intelligence will also be harnessed to enable predictive analysis, where the platform can deliver personalized recommendations and make behavioral predictions.
The company has identified multiple drivers to spur further growth. These include increased use cases, expanding multi-product adoption, and going international and expanding its partner ecosystem. This land-and-expand strategy, coupled with the explosion in digital applications, should bode well for Amplitude's future and enable it to continue growing its revenue and FCF.
Cintas
Cintas (NASDAQ: CTAS) provides a wide range of products and services to businesses, including restroom supplies, uniforms, safety products, and safety courses. The company has 12 distribution centers and boasts more than 1 million customers in the U.S. and Canada. Cintas has managed to grow not just its revenue and net income, but also its FCF, as shown in the table below.

The company recently upped its quarterly cash dividend by 15.6% YOY to $1.56 per share, in line with its strong and consistent free cash flow generation.
Cintas has continued its track record of growth, with total revenue increasing 7% YOY to $7.7 billion for the first nine months of fiscal 2025. Operating income rose nearly 16% YOY to $1.76 billion, while net income improved nearly 18% YOY to $1.36 billion. FCF generation was robust, increasing by 14.5% year over year to $1.24 billion over the same period.
The company's vision is to expand its market, as around 60% of its new business is with customers who were not in a rental program. With customer penetration rates of less than 20%, management believes that there is significant potential to grow the business further. As Cintas does business with just 1 million out of the 16 million businesses in North America, the addressable market remains large and represents an attractive opportunity for the company to continue growing.

J vs. AMPL: Which Stock Is the Better Value Option?

Amplitude (NASDAQ: AMPL) went public toward the tail end of the pandemic boom, and that timing has been unfortunate for the digital product optimization specialist.
The company, which provides tools that help companies enhance and refine their digital products and customer-facing interfaces, has struggled with post-pandemic-related headwinds for much of its publicly traded history. Like other software companies, many of Amplitude's customers overbought its services during the pandemic and have been rightsizing their needs since then.

However, the company said that this trend started to fade in the middle of last year, allowing it to get back to growth, and it did just that in the fourth quarter. Revenue rose 9% to $78.1 million, ahead of the consensus at $76.7 million, and annual recurring revenue was up 11% to $312 million, showing faster growth on an annualized basis.
On the bottom line, adjusted earnings per share fell from $0.04 to $0.02 but still beat estimates at $0.01. And free cash flow was flat at $1.5 million.
Investors seem to sense that a turnaround is afoot, as the stock has risen more than 50% since its low in August. And shares popped on the earnings report last week, jumping 22%, though they've since given back most of those gains.
What's new with Amplitude
In October, Amplitude closed on its acquisition of Command AI, a start-up that provides artificial intelligence (AI)-powered user assistance that makes software easier to use.
Amplitude acquired the start-up to add a new feature it calls guides and surveys to its platform, and it did just that earlier in February, four months after the acquisition. Guides and surveys provide pop-up bubbles and other icons to assist users as they engage with a product online and go through their customer journey.
CEO Spenser Skates explained in an interview with The Motley Fool that guides and surveys were the last major component the company needed to round out its digital product optimization platform. Meeting all its customers' needs in product analytics is key for the company to grow revenue, cross-sell new products, and attract business away from point solutions, which its customers have traditionally used to fulfill some of the objectives that Amplitude's digital analytics platform accomplishes.
Additionally, management said it would launch an AI agent in the second half of the year, which could significantly accelerate customer insights and utility. Such an agent could look at the whole body of data to gain insights rather than just what the management team sees. This product could be a game-changer for Amplitude, as it seems well positioned to capitalize on the benefits of AI, and its customers are already looking for insights to improve their products.
Amplitude also announced it would host an Investor Day conference in New York in March. Companies typically do this when they have good news to share or a bullish forecast they want to give investors. It's likely to discuss the AI agent at the conference as well.
Is Amplitude a buy?
With the post-pandemic headwinds fading away, revenue growth accelerating, and the company's product suite where management wants it to be, Amplitude is in a good position. Meanwhile, a recent version upgrade with meaningful system changes at Google Analytics has turned some users off that product, causing them to go elsewhere to meet their analytics needs.
Investors typically have high growth expectations for software stocks, but Amplitude's guidance calls for similar growth to what we saw in the fourth quarter. For 2025, the company sees revenue of $324.8 million to $330.8 million, reflecting 9% growth at the midpoint.
At this point, I'd like to see more evidence that Amplitude's growth is accelerating before calling it a buy. However, the stock certainly has the potential for a breakout now that its platform has all the major components it needs and is looking forward to launching an AI agent later in the year.
Keep an eye on the company's investor conference next month, as that could be the catalyst for another leg up in the stock.

Noteworthy Thursday Option Activity: XYZ, LGIH, AMPL

In trading on Wednesday, the Invesco Solar ETF is outperforming other ETFs, up about 4% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Nextracker, up about 23% and shares of Array Technologies, up about 6.4% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the WisdomTree Cloud Computing Fund ETF, off about 2.2% in Wednesday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Wednesday were shares of Amplitude, lower by about 6.5%, and shares of Datadog, lower by about 5.5% on the day.
