ADMA Biologics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, engages in developing, manufacturing, and marketing specialty plasma-derived biologics for the treatment of immune deficiencies and infectious diseases in the United States and internationally. It develops a pipeline of plasma-derived therapeutics, including products related to the methods of treatment and prevention of S. pneumonia infection for an immunoglobulin. In addition, it operates source plasma collection facilities. The company sells its products through independent distributors, drug wholesalers, specialty pharmacies, and other alternate site providers. ADMA Makes Notable Cross Below Critical Moving Average

ADMA Biologics ADMA reported lower-than-expected results for the first quarter. Adjusted earnings per share of 14 cents missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 16 cents. Revenues of $114.8 million (up 40% year over year) also missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $119 million.
Consequently, the stock has plunged post the earnings announcement on May 7.

Asceniv’s Performance Fuels ADMA’s Growth
ADMA Biologics markets plasma-derived biologics for the treatment of immune deficiencies and the prevention of certain infectious diseases.
The company’s top line currently comprises sales of three FDA-approved products — Bivigam (an Intravenous Immune Globulin [“IVIG”] product to treat primary humoral immunodeficiency), Asceniv (to treat primary immunodeficiency disease or PIDD) and Nabi-HB (to treat and provide enhanced immunity against the hepatitis B virus).
Asceniv, its lead product, is a plasma-derived IVIG that contains naturally occurring polyclonal antibodies. These antibodies are proteins used by the body’s immune system to neutralize microbes, such as bacteria and viruses, and prevent infection and disease.
Asceniv is indicated for the treatment of PIDD or inborn errors of immunity in adults and adolescents. It is manufactured using ADMA’s unique, patented plasma donor screening methodology and tailored plasma pooling design, which blends normal source plasma with respiratory syncytial virus plasma obtained from donors tested using the company’s proprietary microneutralization assay.
Demand was record high in the first quarter. Consequently, ADMA expects Asceniv’s total revenue share to expand throughout 2025 and beyond.
ADMA anticipates accelerating new patient starts and further penetration in existing institutions, which would significantly expand its peak revenue potential driven by ramp up of long-term high-titer plasma supply contracts and continued benefit in real-world patient outcomes.
ADMA’s Progress With Another Candidate
ADMA expects to generate initial, proof-of-concept animal data before 2025-end for its lead R&D pipeline program, SG-001, a hyperimmune globulin targeting S. pneumonia.
ADMA believes that SG-001 has the potential to generate $300-500 million or more in high-margin annual revenues, with IP protection through at least 2037.
ADMA Raises Financial Targets
Along with providing first-quarter results, ADMA updated its outlook for 2025 and 2026. ADMA now expects to generate revenues of more than $500 million in 2025 and $625 million in 2026 (previous guidance: more than $490 million in 2025 and $605 million in 2026). Net income is projected to exceed $175 million in 20225 (same as before) and expected to increase to $245 million or more for 2026 (previous guidance: exceed $235 million in 2026).

ADMA's Q1 Earnings and Revenues Miss: Buy, Sell or Hold the Stock?

Total revenues were $3.25 billion, down 11% year over year. The top line included product sales and other revenues. Nonetheless, revenues beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.23 billion.
Shares are trading up in response to better-than-expected results. VTRS’ share price has dropped 30.1% year to date compared with the industry’s 0.9% decline.

VTRS’ Q1 Sales in Detail
Sales totaled $3.2 billion, down 11%. Sales were down 3% on a divestiture-adjusted operational basis compared to the prior-year results.
The company reports under four segments — Developed Markets, Emerging Markets, Japan, Australia and New Zealand (JANZ), and Greater China.
Sales from Developed Markets amounted to $1.9 billion, down 3% on a divestiture-adjusted operational basis. The reported figure missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.93 billion.
Sales from Emerging Markets totaled $519.9 million, down 5% on a divestiture-adjusted operational basis. The figure beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $464 million.
JANZ generated sales of $276.1 million, down 6% on a divestiture-adjusted operational basis. Sales missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $309 million.
Sales from Greater China totaled $555.5 million, up 4% on a divestiture-adjusted operational basis. The figure beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $553 million.
Based on product category, revenues from Brands decreased 8% to $2.1 billion. On a divestiture-adjusted operational basis, sales increased 3%, reflecting the expansion of the portfolio in Emerging Markets and strong growth in Greater China and Developed Markets.
Among Brands, Lipitor sales totaled $388 million, relatively flat year over year. Norvasc sales decreased to $172.3 million from $176.3 million a year ago. Lyrica sales declined to $112.6 million from $114.2 million.
Yupelri sales totaled $58.3 million, up from $55.2 million in the year-ago quarter.
Generics, which includes diversified product forms such as extended-release oral solids, injectables, transdermals, topicals and complex generics, posted revenues of $1.1 billion, down 16%. On an operational change basis, sales were down 11%.
The decline in generics’ sales reflects the expected negative impact from the Indore facility, partially offset by growth in certain complex products in North America, strong performance across key European markets and volume growth in JANZ.
Following an inspection of Viatris' oral finished dose manufacturing facility in Indore, India, in June 2024, the company received a warning letter and import alert from the FDA in December 2024.
The import alert affects 11 actively distributed products, including lenalidomide and everolimus.
Viatris generated $67 million in new generic product revenues. It expects to generate $450-$550 million in new product revenues in 2025.
Adjusted gross margin was 55.9%, down from 58.8% reported in the year-ago quarter.
So far this year, VTRS has returned more than $450 million of capital to its shareholders, including over $300 million in share repurchases and $143 million in dividends paid.
VTRS expects $500 million to $650 million in total share repurchases in 2025.
VTRS Updates 2025 Guidance
Total revenues are still projected to be in the band of $13.5-$14 billion. Adjusted earnings per share are now expected to be in the range of $2.16-$2.30 (previous guidance: $2.12-$2.26). The guidance for the bottom line was updated to reflect the impact of acquired IPR&D and share repurchases.

Other Updates
Results from the phase III open-label, long-term extension study for Effexor required for approval in Japan were positive. VTRS filed applications to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for approval of Effexor SR Capsules (venlafaxine hydrochloride), a serotonin-noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor to treat adults with generalized anxiety disorder.
VTRS announced positive top-line results from two pivotal phase III studies of its novel fast-acting formulation of meloxicam (MR-107A-02) for the treatment of moderate-to-severe acute pain. All primary and secondary endpoints were met in both the phase III studies. MR-107A-02 demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful results.
VTRS is targeting to submit a new drug application to the FDA by the end of 2025.

Viatris Q1 Earnings and Revenues Beat Estimates, Stock Gains

Revenues of $88.1 million surged 95% year over year but missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $95 million. Revenues came in solely from the sales of Vyjuvek.
Shares of the company are trading down in response to the disappointing results.

KRYS’ Q1 Results in Detail
In 2023, the FDA approved Vyjuvek, the first-ever revocable gene therapy for treating patients aged six months or older with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB). DEB is a rare and severe monogenic disease that affects the skin and mucosal tissues. It is caused by one or more mutations in a gene called COL7A1.
As of April, Krystal secured more than 540 reimbursement approvals for Vyjuvek in the United States. It also achieved positive access determinations for 97% of lives covered under commercial and Medicaid plans.
The gross margin in the reported quarter was 94%.
Research and development expenses amounted to $14.2 million, up 30.1% year over year. Selling, general and administrative expenses totaled $32.7 million, up 25.6% from the year-ago level.
Cash, cash equivalents, and investments totaled $765.3 million as of March 31, 2025.

KRYS Makes Good Pipeline Progress
Last month, the European Commission approved Vyjuvek for the treatment of wounds in patients with DEB who have mutations in the collagen type VII alpha 1 chain (COL7A1) gene, starting from birth. KRYS is on track to launch the drug in Germany in mid-2025.
Krystal Biotech has also filed a new drug application with Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency. A decision on the same is expected in the second half of 2025.
KRYS is also advancing a robust preclinical and clinical pipeline of investigational genetic medicines in the fields of respiratory, oncology, dermatology, ophthalmology and aesthetics.
Krystal Biotech is evaluating KB407 for the treatment of cystic fibrosis. Enrollment is ongoing in cohort 3 of CORAL-1, a multi-center, dose escalation study evaluating KB407 in patients with CF, regardless of their underlying genotype.
KRYS received full sanctioning of the study protocol by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutic Development Network in January and remains on track for an interim molecular data readout for cohort 3 patients in mid-2025.
Another candidate, KB408, is being evaluated for the treatment of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. Enrollment is ongoing in cohort 2 and is working to enroll in Cohort 3 of SERPENTINE-1, an open-label, single-dose escalation study in adult patients with AATD.
Vyjuvek is referred to as B-VEC outside the country. The company is also evaluating KB803 (B-VEC formulated as an eyedrop) for ocular complications of DEB. Enroll is ongoing in its ongoing natural history study to prospectively collect data on the frequency of corneal abrasions in patients with DEB.
This will allow KRYS to screen eligible patients for its registrational phase III IOLITE study, which will evaluate the effect of KB803 on ocular complications of DEB. Krystal Biotech expects to dose the first patient in the registrational phase III IOLITE study on KB803 later this month.
In April, the FDA cleared the company’s investigational new drug application to evaluate KB801. This is the company’s second clinical-stage ophthalmology program for the treatment of neurotrophic keratitis (NK).
KRYS expects to dose the first patient in EMERALD-1, a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center Phase 1/2 study evaluating KB801 in moderate-to-severe NK patients, later this month.
Enrollment is ongoing in KYANITE-1, a phase I/II open-label, multi-center, dose escalation and expansion study evaluating inhaled KB707, as monotherapy or in combination, in patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors of the lung.
KRYS’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Jeune Aesthetics, is currently developing a décolleté-specific photo numeric scale for advanced clinical development of KB301. This subsidiary expects to align with the FDA on the scale and enroll the first subject in a multi-center, randomized, placebo-controlled phase II study evaluating KB301 for the treatment of dynamic wrinkles of the décolleté in the fourth quarter.
In February, Jeune Aesthetics completed enrolment in PEARL-2, an ongoing, randomized and placebo-controlled phase I study evaluating KB304 for the treatment of wrinkles. Top-line results from the study are expected in the second half.
KRYS also expects to initiate the phase II portion of its phase I/II JADE-1 trial evaluating KB105 for the treatment of TGM1-deficient lamellar ichthyosis in pediatric patients in 2026.

Krystal Biotech Q1 Earnings and Sales Miss Estimates, Stock Down

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated VRTX reported adjusted earnings of $4.06 per share for the first quarter of 2025, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $4.22. Earnings declined 14.7% on a year-over-year basis.
The company reported total revenues of $2.77 billion for the first quarter, which missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.82 billion. VRTX’s total revenues comprised cystic fibrosis (“CF”) and other products revenues, as well as other collaboration revenues.

VRTX's Q1 Results in Detail
Total revenues rose 9% year over year in the United States to $1.66 billion, while sales outside the United States decreased 5% to $1.11 billion. On the first-quarter conference call, management stated that revenues in ex-U.S. markets were negatively impacted by the availability of an illegal copy product in Russia, where Vertex is experiencing a violation of its intellectual property rights.
The company recorded $10 million of collaboration revenues in the first quarter.
The company’s total product revenues comprise sales of Trikafta/Kaftrio, the newly approved CFTR modulator therapy, Alyftrek (vanza triple) and other product revenues.
Trikafta generated sales worth $2.54 billion, up 2.4% year over year. The product’s sales narrowly missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.55 billion as well as our model estimate of $2.62 billion.
Alyftrek generated sales worth $53.9 million in the first quarter. Alyftrek, a next-in-class triple combination regimen, was approved by the FDA in December 2024 for treating people with CF aged six years and older. Management is already seeing a steady uptake from all patient groups who are eligible for treatment with Alyftrek.
Revenue from other products decreased 17.4% year over year to $170.8 million.
Other product revenues included $14.2 million in sales of Casgevy, an insignificant amount from the newly approved pain drug, Journavx (suzetrigine) as well as sales of VRTX’s other CF products – Symdeko/Symkevi (marketed as Symkevi in Europe), Orkambi and Kalydeco.
Vertex and partner CRISPR Therapeutics’ CRSP one-shot gene therapy, Casgevy, was approved for two blood disorders, sickle cell disease and transfusion-dependent beta-thalassemia, in multiple regions in late 2023/early 2024.
Vertex leads the global development and commercialization of Casgevy under the terms of the 2021 agreement with support from CRISPR Therapeutics.
Casgevy sales surged 77.5% on a sequential basis, reflecting strong adoption already.
The FDA approved Vertex’s oral, non-opioid, highly selective NaV1.8 pain signal inhibitor, Journavx, for the treatment of adults with moderate-to-severe acute pain in January 2025.
VRTX's Q1 Cost Discussion
Adjusted research and development (R&D) expenses were up 31.2% year over year to $879 million while adjusted selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses increased 22.4% to $333 million in the reported quarter due to higher investment in various ongoing clinical studies and higher expenses to support the commercial launch of Journavx.
During the first quarter, Vertex recorded acquired in-process research and development (AIPR&D) costs of $19.8 million compared with $76.8 million reported in the year-ago quarter.
Adjusted operating income was almost $1.18 billion in the quarter, indicating a decrease of almost 12% year over year.
VRTX's 2025 Guidance
The company raised the lower end of its total revenue guidance for full-year 2025.
Vertex now expects total revenues in the range of $11.85-$12 billion for 2025 compared with the previous expectation of $11.75-$12 billion. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for total revenues is pegged at $11.86 billion for 2025.
The updated guidance reflects the continued growth in CF medicines, including the launch of Alyftrek, the uptake of Casgevy and early contributions from the launch of Journavx.
Combined adjusted R&D, AIPR&D and SG&A expense for 2025 is expected in the band of $4.9-$5 billion. The adjusted tax rate is expected to be in the range of 20.5%-21.5%. Both estimates remain unchanged from the previous expectations.
VRTX's Pipeline Update
Besides acute pain, suzetrigine is also being developed in late-stage studies for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and painful lumbosacral radiculopathy.
Vertex has a rapidly advancing mid to late-stage pipeline in other disease areas, like APOL1-mediated kidney diseases, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and cell therapy for type I diabetes (T1D).
A phase II study is evaluating VRTX’s oral formulation of next-gen Nav1.8 inhibitor, VX-993, for the treatment of moderate-to-severe acute pain following bunionectomy surgery. Data from the same is expected in the second half of 2025.
VX-993 is also in phase I development for the intravenous formulation.
The acquisition of Alpine in May 2024 added povetacicept to Vertex’s pipeline. Povetacicept is designed to target two proteins, namely BAFF and APRIL, which are jointly responsible for the cause of multiple serious autoimmune diseases.
The phase III RAINIER study is investigating povetacicept for the treatment of IgA nephropathy. Povetacicept is also being evaluated in two phase II basket studies, one in renal diseases and a second in B cell-mediated diseases. Data from these studies is expected later this year.
Vertex is developing zimislecel in the phase III portion of the ongoing phase I/II/III study for treating patients with T1D with severe hypoglycemic events (SHEs) and impaired awareness of hypoglycemia. Enrollment and dosing in this study are expected to be completed later in the second quarter of 2025. Vertex plans to submit regulatory filings seeking approval for zimislecel in T1D in 2026.

VRTX's Q1 Earnings Lag Estimates, 2025 Revenue View Tightened

Sage Therapeutics, Inc. SAGE reported a loss of $1.01 per share for the first quarter of 2025, wider than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of 99 cents. The company had reported a loss of $1.80 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Revenues in the first quarter totaled $14.1 million, up from $7.9 million reported in the year-ago period. Revenues slightly missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $14.2 million. (Find the latest EPS estimates and surprises on Zacks Earnings Calendar.)
SAGE markets its new depression drug Zurzuvae (zuranolone) in partnership with drug giant Biogen BIIB. Zurzuvae, the first and only oral treatment indicated for adults with postpartum depression (PPD), was approved in August 2023 and was commercially launched in December 2023.
Year to date, shares of Sage Therapeutics have rallied 40% against the industry’s decline of 4%.

Total revenues in the reported quarter comprised collaboration revenues – related party and other collaboration revenues.
Collaboration revenues from the sale of Zurzuvae were $13.8 million in the first quarter, increasing 21% on a sequential basis.
Sage Therapeutics and partner Biogen equally share profits and losses for the commercialization of Zurzuvae in the United States. In ex-U.S. markets, Biogen records product sales (excluding Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, where Shionogi holds the rights) and pays royalties to SAGE.
Per Sage Therapeutics, more than 3,000 prescriptions were shipped and delivered during the quarter, representing an increase of 22% sequentially.
Research & development (R&D) expenses were $22.8 million, down 68.2% from the year-ago quarter’s levels. The downside was due to recent restructuring measures, including reduced headcount and lower spending on early-stage pipeline programs and discontinuation of ongoing clinical studies.
Selling, general and administrative expenses (SG&A) increased 9.5% from the prior-year quarter’s figure to $57.6 million. The upside was due to higher commercialization cost and legal expenses associated with the strategic alternatives review process.
The company had $424 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities as of March 31, 2025 compared with $504 million as of Dec. 31, 2024. This cash balance, combined with expected funding from collaboration revenues and potential savings from the recent reorganization, is expected to support SAGE’s ongoing operations into mid-2027.
2025 Guidance
The company anticipates operating expenses to substantially decline in 2025 compared with 2024. SAGE also expects the Zurzuvae joint commercialization investment to increase in 2025.
SAGE's Key Pipeline Updates
SAGE is currently evaluating SAGE-324 for potential indications, including seizures in developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs). An update on the next steps of development of SAGE-324, if any, is expected in mid-2025.
We remind investors that in September 2024, Biogen terminated its rights under the collaboration and license agreement with SAGE related to the development of neurology candidate, SAGE-324, for treating essential tremor (ET). A phase II study on SAGE-324 for the chronic treatment of ET failed in July 2024.
Sage Therapeutics is developing SAGE-319, its wholly-owned extra-synaptic-preferring GABA-A receptor-positive allosteric modulator, as a potential treatment for behavioral symptoms associated with certain neurodevelopmental disorders. Data from a phase I multiple ascending dose study on SAGE-319 is expected by late 2025.
The company is exploring various strategic alternatives to maximize shareholders’ value.

Noteworthy Monday Option Activity: ADMA, MAR, HUM

(RTTNews) - ADMA Biologics, Inc. (ADMA) Monday said that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the company's innovative production yield enhancement process.
The company noted that the innovative process has shown an ability to increase production yields by about 20% from the same starting plasma volume.
"This approval represents a pivotal milestone for ADMA, unlocking the opportunity for meaningful acceleration in our revenue and earnings trajectory beginning in late 2025 and accelerating further into 2026 and beyond," said Adam Grossman, President and Chief Executive Officer of ADMA.

FDA Approves ADMA Biologics' Innovative Production Yield Enhancement Process

Bristol-Myers Squibb Company BMY reported first-quarter 2025 adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.80, which comfortably beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.51. In the year-ago quarter, BMY posted an adjusted loss per share of $4.40. (Find the latest EPS estimates and surprises on Zacks Earnings Calendar.)
Total revenues of $11.2 billion surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $10.7 billion. However, revenues were down 6% from the year-ago period’s level due to a decline in Legacy portfolio sales.
BMY’s shares have lost 12.3% year to date compared with the industry's decline of 5.3%.

Revenues decreased 7% to $7.9 in the United States. International revenues decreased 2% year over year to $3.3 billion.
Growth Portfolio Fuels BMY’s Q1 Top Line
BMY’s Growth Portfolio comprises drugs like Opdivo, Orencia, Yervoy, Reblozyl, Camzyos, Breyanzi, Opdualag, Zeposia, Abecma, Sotyku, Krazati and Cobenfy.
Revenues from the Growth portfolio totaled $5.6 billion, up 16% from the year-ago level. Sales grew 18% when adjusted for foreign exchange impacts.
Growth Portfolio revenues were primarily driven by higher demand for Opdivo, Reblozyl, Breyanzi, Camzyos, Yervoy and Opdualag.
Total sales of the immuno-oncology drug Opdivo, approved for multiple cancer indications, increased 9% year over year to $2.26 billion. The figure beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.17 billion and our model estimate of $2.14 billion.
However, sales of the rheumatoid arthritis drug Orencia decreased 4% to $770 million.
Melanoma drug Yervoy contributed $624 million to the top line. The figure rose 7% year over year. Yervoy sales beat both the Zacks Consensus Estimate and our model estimate of $597 million.
Reblozyl sales surged 35% year over year to $478 million. Reblozyl sales were in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate but missed our model estimate of $493.9 million.
Opdualag sales jumped 23% to $252 million. Opdualag sales missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $262 million and our model estimate of $257 million.
Breyanzi sales skyrocketed 146% to $263 million and beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $240 million and our model estimate of $260 million. Camzyos sales, too, surged 89% to $159 million.
Sales of Zeposia declined 3% to $107 million. Abecma sales increased 26% to $103 million.
Sotyktu sales totaled $55 million. Krazati raked in sales of $48 million. The newly approved schizophrenia drug, Cobenfy, generated sales of $27 million.
Decline in Legacy Portfolio Revenues Pulls Down BMY in Q1
Revenues for the Legacy Portfolio plunged 20% to $5.64 billion due to the continued generic impact on Revlimid, Pomalyst, Sprycel and Abraxane, as well as the effects of the U.S. Medicare Part D redesign.
Eliquis sales of $3.56 billion were down 4%. Nonetheless, sales beat both the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.3 billion and our model estimate of $3.4 billion.
Please note that Bristol-Myers has a collaboration agreement with Pfizer PFE for Eliquis. The companies collaborated in 2007. Profits and losses are shared equally on a global basis, except in certain countries where Pfizer commercializes Eliquis and pays BMY a sales-based fee.
Multiple myeloma (MM) drug Revlimid revenues plummeted 44% to $936 million due to lower demand on account of generic erosion. Sales surpassed both the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $885 million and our model estimate of $764.3 million.
MM drug Pomalyst generated sales of $658 million, down 24% year over year.
Leukemia drug Sprycel sales nosedived 53% year over year to $175 million due to generic competition.
Abraxane revenues declined 52% to $105 million.
Costs and Margin
Gross margin decreased to 73.1% from 75.5% in the year-ago quarter due to product mix. Adjusted research and development expenses decreased 5% to $2.2 billion. Adjusted marketing, selling and administrative expenses decreased 20% to $1.6 billion due to BMY’s cost-cutting initiative.
BMY’s Key Pipeline Updates
The FDA updated the prescribing information for Camzyos, simplifying treatment options for patients and physicians by reducing the required echo monitoring for eligible patients in the maintenance phase and expanding patient eligibility by reducing contraindications.
Earlier, the late-stage ODYSSEY-HCM study evaluating Camzyos for the treatment of adult patients with symptomatic New York Heart Association class II-III non-obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy did not meet its dual primary endpoints.
The late-stage study evaluating Cobenfy as an adjunctive treatment to atypical antipsychotics in adults with schizophrenia did not meet the threshold for statistical significance for the primary endpoint.
The FDA approved Opdivo plus Yervoy as a first-line treatment for adult patients with unresectable or metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma.

BMY Raises 2025 Guidance
Bristol-Myers raised its annual revenue guidance to $45.8-$46.8 billion from $45.5 billion on the back of strong performance of the Growth Portfolio, better-than-expected Legacy Portfolio sales in the first quarter of 2025 and a favorable impact of approximately $500 million related to foreign exchange rates.
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2025 revenues is pinned at $45.82 billion.
The company now expects adjusted earnings to be in the range of $6.70-$7 (previous guidance: $6.55-$6.85). The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2025 EPS is pegged at $6.76.
Management added that the stated guidance revisions include the estimated impact of current tariffs on U.S. products shipped to China but do not account for potential pharmaceutical sector tariffs.
Our Take on BMY’s Q1 Performance
BMY’s better-than-expected quarterly results were driven by higher demand for Opdivo, Breyanzi, Reblozyl and Camzyos.
As expected, sales in the Legacy portfolio declined, but the deterioration was lower than expected.
Consequently, the guidance was raised to reflect this performance.
The strategic productivity initiative undertaken by the company is boosting the bottom line.
While the performance definitely boosts investor sentiment, BMY has a few challenges to navigate.
