Finally, Nvidia hasn't stopped with the GPU, but instead has built out an entire ecosystem of products and services, and has even developed platforms to suit specific industries such as healthcare and automotive.

And once the buildout has reached later stages, Nvidia will continue to benefit because its chips aren't just used to train models -- they also are needed on an ongoing basis to power models through their problem-solving jobs.

On top of this, a recent deal Nvidia announced should further expand its reach -- and revenue potential. The company has partnered with Nokia to bring AI to next-generation mobile networks. So, Nvidia, thanks to its accelerated computing platform for telecom, is on track to become a central player in telecom infrastructure -- potentially revolutionizing the market -- in the years to come.
Though, as I mentioned earlier, rivals exist, Nvidia may stay ahead due to its focus on innovation and the fact that it's been expanding the use of its technology into as many areas as possible. Of course, rivals may gain some market share, but their gains don't necessarily equal a loss for Nvidia. There is enough demand in the AI market -- and potential for new ways to use Nvidia's technology, as we see in the telecom example -- to power Nvidia's revenue strength well into the future.
And that's why Nvidia, even after its explosive growth in recent years, still might be the most compelling AI stock for the next decade.

Back in late October, Nvidia announced plans to invest $1 billion into the company to "enable accelerated development and deployment of next generation AI native mobile networks and AI networking infrastructure."
Given the implications of Nokia working with a top AI winner in its own AI endeavors, it's not surprising that Nokia shares soared from around $6 to as much as $8.19 per share on the news. Even as the stock has since given back these gains -- it closed Dec. 9 at $6.18 -- don't underestimate the potential impact of this emerging AI catalyst.
$10 per share is within reach for Nokia in 2026
In the quarters ahead, if Nokia posts strong results and guidance, as well as promising updates about its AI pivot, another surge may be in store. Sell-side analyst estimates already call for Nokia to experience 25% earnings growth in 2026.
Depending on the extent of Nokia's AI progress, shares, now trading at a forward P/E of around 13, could experience major valuation expansion. Other AI networking stocks trade for more than 30 times forward earnings estimates.
Even if the stock experiences just a modest rerating, to a forward P/E in the mid-to-high 20s, this would result in the stock climbing to prices north of $10 per share. You may want to wait for further near-term weakness, but keep Nokia on your radar in 2026.

Nokia is all in on AI
Nokia's restructuring announced comes just weeks after the company said AI giant Nvidia would invest $1 billion in exchange for a roughly 3% stake in the company. The two will partner to integrate AI into mobile networking and help transform networking within AI data centers.
While today's restructure announcement is a concrete step in Nokia's new AI-focused strategy, it comes at a time when investors are increasingly wary of an AI infrastructure overbuild.
While the current data center build-out looks unsustainable to me, I do think there is upside here. Leveraging AI to boost efficiency and better manage mobile networks is a useful application of the technology, with tangible value.

This is a separate long-term target for Nokia, and replaces Nokia's prior long-term targets to grow faster than the market, achieve a comparable operating margin of at least 13% and free cash flow conversion from comparable operating profit of 55% to 85%. Nokia targets 6-8% net sales CAGR during 2025-2028. This includes a 10-12% target for the combined Optical Networks and IP Networks.
Nokia said it is simplifying operational model into two primary operating segments of Network Infrastructure and Mobile Infrastructure. The new segments will be established from 1 January 2026. Nokia will begin reporting its financial results under the new segment structure beginning with its first quarter 2026 results.
Network Infrastructure segment will continue to be led by David Heard and consists of three business units Optical Networks, IP Networks and Fixed Networks. The new Mobile Infrastructure segment will bring together Nokia's Core Networks portfolio, Radio Networks portfolio and Technology Standards, formerly Nokia Technologies. It will be led by Justin Hotard on an interim basis and will consist of three business units Core Software, Radio Networks and Technology Standards.

Nokia Issues New Long-term Financial Target; To Operate With Two Primary Operating Segments

(RTTNews) - Nokia Oyj (NOK), Monday announced that the company has been awarded a new deal by Telecom Italia to expand and modernize the coverage and capacity of its 5G network.
The three-year deal would support Telecom Italia's ambitions to tackle the digital divide and digitize enterprises by delivering fast broadband connections in smaller towns and rural areas.
Additionally, the telecom company will supply its latest generation of Habrok 32 Massive MIMO radios and its Pandion portfolio of FDD multi-band remote radio heads for comprehensive coverage across multiple deployment scenarios.
Nokia will also extend the deployment of its AI-powered MantaRay SON solution to more areas, the company added.
In the pre-market hours, NOK is trading at $6.72, down 0.15 percent on the New York Stock Exchange.
